Emperor Belos VS Darcy Wu (The Owl House VS Amphibia)

"The proverb warns that 'You should not bite the hand that feeds you.' But maybe you should, if it prevents you from feeding yourself." - Thomas Szasz

Emperor Belos, the Witch Hunter brought to the Boiling Isles!
Darcy Wu, the eternal intelligence of Amphibia!
These despots as old as history itself have been planning on conquering the world for ages, but which monarchy will end up victorious in a DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Begin

Both The Owl House and Amphibia don't have too large of media lists that need to be addressed, I'll obviously be including the main shows of both series, along with official shorts (Owl Pellets & Teen Girl in a Frog World / Wild Amphibia / Vlogs from the Bog), and any side media (The Owl House: Witch's Apprentice, Hex-cellent Tales from The Boiling Isles, Witches Before Wizards (Book) & Amphibia: Locust Pocus, Marcy's Journal, The Art of Amphibia) will also be noted for research.
This blog is also being written before the release of The Owl House: The Long-Lived King & Amphibia: Strange Voyage, and thus will not be able to include any media from them. This will also be excluding any non-canon material such as Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, Disney Bounce, and Chibi Tiny Tales.

Background

Hear the tale of the two brothers Wittebane. The year is 1613, and two orphaned brothers had arrived in the town of Gravesfield, Connecticut. Their names being Caleb and Philip Wittebane. Caleb, being the older brother, tried his best to take care of his younger brother, attempting to make a home in their new town and partaking in its strange ways. Because of this, Caleb and Philip would grow up to become Witch Hunters. Eventually, the brothers Wittebane would meet a real Witch, named Evelyn ClawthorneCaleb, lovestruck by Evelyn, showing him the wonders of magic and the Boiling Isles, would leave Gravesfield and Philip for his new love, as his little brother would chase after him to bring them both to justice.
As Philip saw his brother once more, he saw him as past saving. Blade in hand, he'd strike his brother down, though this action would follow him through the rest of his life, but not as guilt, as a ghost of his past actions forever acting as a reminder to the monster Philip became, not that this would ever get through to him. In his eyes, this was the fault of those Witches, those who could perform the dark arts from the power within their Bile Sacs, an organ placed next to their hearts with magical energy allowing them to use Spells.
Once Philip tried to return, he would find himself stuck within the Boiling Isles, a world so horrid, and yet so fantastic. Recording his journey within a journal. After a few years, he would discover "Picto-Glyphs", a way of performing magic taking magic not from a Bile Sac, but from the Titan itself, allowing him to perform his own magic substitution, he would only find the fourth and final Glyph however, with the help of a young girl named Luzura, as if it was by fate. She was kind, and ecstatic to aid him on his quest, taking him to the Collector, a mystical being sealed in a place between realms, her charity was naïve however, as by that point, Philip no longer cared for leaving The Boiling Isles, no. He has a new plan that had been set in motion, and he only wished to see it through.
The Boiling Isles itself was working against Philip, actively hiding the remaining Glyphs from him as much as it could. Though Philip no longer truly needed them as he began absorbing the life force of Palismen, giving him his own mystical powers, as he eventually designed a faux magic staff for his own abilities as well, though as he absorbed the souls of the Palismen, that only added to the screams of mercy that would only fall unto deaf ears. The final thing he needed was a Grimwalker, a duplicate of his own brother to take advantage of and discard when no longer useful. From there, he began to set his plan of destruction into motion.
Philip could no longer use his real name, as he'd been driven out of too many towns, so as he spread his word as gospel he took on a new mantle, his Grimwalker as the Golden Guard, and himself as Lord Belos. He would spread lies, that the ability to use magic was evil and against the will of the Boiling Isles, inventing the Coven System to limit the magic of Witches. As the centuries went by, he eventually became the ruler of the Boiling Isles, nearly placing every Witch into a Coven, where eventually only a select few stood against him, most notably being Edalyn Clawthorne, The King of Demons, and a new Human, Luz Noceda. With the human being the same young girl who he had met centuries ago.
As the final year went by, he had many encounters with Luz, though his final ploy was still set. With the help of the Emperor's Coven new generation of the Golden Guard (Named Hunter), he was about to start the Day of Unity. A power draining spell that would kill every witch on the Boiling Isles, though his plan was eventually brought down by Luz and her friends. Tricking him into being placed into a Coven so the draining spell would affect him as well, and releasing the Collector, who would wreak havoc onto the Isles as Luz, her friends, and Belos would escape back into the Human Realm.
Within the Human Realm, Belos would scheme, steal, and do whatever it took to return to the Isles to finish what he started, eventually coming across some Titan's blood to return. Where upon arrival, he would attempt to manipulate the Collector into helping him, until he learned that the Isles itself, the carcass of the Titan, was still partially alive. There he would take over the Isles, and take over his perdition himself.
As the Titan, he would spread corruption throughout the Isles, almost killing The Collector, and killing Luz Noceda. Here, he was about to win, only for the Isles to defy him once again, bringing back Luz, and giving her the power of the world at her disposal. Luz would rally all her newfound family against Belos, placing them inside the Titan's heart and forcefully ripping him out, removing his power. He would attempt to plead to Luz to save him, only for his pleas to be found on deaf ears; after all these years, he still believed himself to be righteous.
He found himself at the mercy of the isles one final time, being melted by its boiling rain as he was stomped to death by Witches, as he, a human, was more of a monster than any demon could ever be.
So let this be a lesson, to never let obsession drive you insane. Lest you one day end up like the youngest brother, Wittebane.

Darcy

Ten thousand years ago, there was a race so advanced they could travel the multiverse, they were explorers, they were conquerors, they were... Amphibians. A race of alien Frogs, Toads and Newts who had the power of Calamity at their fingertips. Three Gems with unlimited power, allowing for interdimensional travel. This power, this very birthright of the Amphibians was set in stone, but their legacy was not. Overtime, age would take course and they would become brittle, frail, forgotten. So a new course of action was taken, all the greatest minds of Amphibia would be combined into a central machine, known as The Core.
With the power of the three Gems, they would conquer thousands of worlds, draining them of their resources to fuel more conquest, and adding more of Amphibia's greatest minds into the central beating heart of it all. And one day, it would be time for King Aldrich Leviathan, and eventually even his son, Prince Andrias Leviathan, to become one with The Core. But Andrias wasn't alone, as he had two close friends, named Barrel, the Royal Guard. and Lief, the Palace Gardener.
While there were some doubters, namely the Olms who believed the Gems should be left alone as they served a greater purpose, though this was never an issue until a vision was given to Lief, showing the devastation that would happen upon the land if things continued as they were. Pleading King Aldrich to change his ways, only for her words to be disregarded, only being seen as a threat to their lifestyle. In a desperate attempt to change the future, Lief stole the Music Box, and ran from the castle to never be seen again. Andrias was devastated, not only by the betrayal by his closest friend, but also by how he had disappointed his father, who would then leave Andrias to rule over the land as he would become one with The Core.
Andrias would instate a new order, that the frogs of Amphibia would be the lowest class, the toads keeping them in line, and place newts as elites. He also made sure to eradicate any written history of their previous conquests, in order to ensure no rebellion like this would ever happen again. For thousands of years, Andrias waited, aided by the Core as he got cybernetic enhancements to keep living, to keep moving forward, to ensure preservation.
Eventually, 3 Human girls would find the Music Box on Earth, each being placed within different corners of Amphibia. Anne Boonchuy being placed with the frogs of Wartwood, Sasha Waybright being placed with the toads of Toad Tower, and most importantly, Marcy Wu being placed in Newtopia, with Andrias himself. Welcoming her with open arms, he immediately took a liking to Marcy, but The Core was more cautious. This girl was a part of the prophecy, with a part of the Calamity Gems power within her, and had to be eliminated at once. Though Andrias pleaded and offered an alternate method to undo the prophecy, in an attempt to spare Marcy's life.
Andrias manipulated all three girls into draining the power of the stones, taking it out of them and placing it back into the stones. Once all three stones were recharged, he would resume his conquest... until something went wrong. As it would turn out, one of the Gems hadn't finished recharging, that being the Blue Gem of Heart, residing within Anne Boonchuy. Though Andrias was able to hold her off for a while, she eventually escaped back to earth and searched for ways to fight back against him, along with Sasha leading several armies, though Marcy was well within his reach.
The Core needed a new body, needing a way to interact with the world, needing someone intelligent, someone to act as a host, someone like Marcy. Taking over her body, the Core would take a new name, that being Darcy. With this, they would plot together with Andrias to kill Anne and prevent her from fighting against them, making sure to manipulate Andrias so he would still need to rely on them. Though this couldn't go on forever, as Anne would return to Amphibia and aid Sasha in fighting back. Together, Sasha and Anne would make a gambit, where they would fake a raid in front of Darcy's castle to lead out their forces, to then sneak in and steal the Music Box, though Darcy saw right through this plan, capturing Amphibia's last hope. They were now ready to invade Earth, and drain it of its resources.
As the invasion began, Sasha, Anne, and the rest of the resistance managed to escape, with the fate of Earth now relying on a honour bound duel between Anne Boonchuy and Andrias Leviathan. While this was happening, Darcy would engage in a fight against Sasha and Grime, injuring them both as Darcy was ready to end them. That was until Andrias started to lose his will to fight, leaving an opening for Sasha to sever The Core's connection to Marcy, freeing her from their grasp.
As they won, they hadn't noticed The Core was still alive, as the Core would make its own gambit, sending the moon hurling down at Amphibia in an attempt to wipe out all life. Anne, Sasha and Marcy would use the full power of the stones to try and stop the moon, but the moon would not be stopped until Anne made a sacrifice, a secret spell by calling on the true power of the stones to wipe out any foe. At the cost of her own life, The Core was wiped out by the very heart of Amphibia.
In a way, The Core got what it had always wanted, to be remembered eternally. As being forgotten, not being remembered, was the Core's greatest fear. But despite that, despite their attempts to make sure the world would never change, people moved on. And the world would continue to grow and continue to change for the better.
Hundreds of eyes that burn too bright, come from below to extend the night. Choosing flight as they begin to fall, would be the end of the root of it all.

Experience & Skill

Belos

Despite the Boiling Isles itself actively working against him, Belos by himself was still able to find every Glyph and Glyph Combination, with him also managing to successfully manipulate the entire Isles into believing his lies. In combat, he has commonly been referred to as the true strongest Witch, and has easily been able to outmatch the entire Hexsquad multiple times even when at a disadvantageous position.

His knowledge of magic doesn't end there, he managed to create the Coven System, which limits the amount of magic a Witch can do using a Branding Glove of his own design, he also managed to make a staff that artificially replicates magic in the same way a Palisman does. His own magic is so powerful that the Coven Heads (who each on their own are massively powerful), could only hope to defeat him via outsmarting rather than outmuscling, but even then they were outmatched as Belos has his eyes everywhere.

His manipulation is so great he was able to get Luz to help him repeatedly without her knowledge, with her only succeeding in the end due to Belos' own ego. Belos has been going around and doing this for centuries, and eventually even managed to manipulate the Collector, twice.

Darcy

The Core has been in existence for at least around 10,000 years, conquering thousands of worlds to drain them of their resources to fuel more conquest. Even after Andrias was placed in charge without the Calamity Box entering a dark age of Amphibia's history, The Core was still in the shadows controlling Andrias' every move. Along with having the collective memories of all of Amphibia's greatest minds, with Amphibia having tons of complicated technology and magic which they are all likely responsible for.

The Core was also able to inherent all of the traits of Marcy Wu, who despite being only 13 years old, is already skilled enough to where she can complete tough warrior missions that were designed to be impossible, not to mention her extreme intelligence, being able to beat Andrias in Flipwart (an extreme version of Chess, of which Andrias is a master of) and solve every puzzle in a temple which no Newt, Toad or Frog has been able to solve in history, and also her extremely good accuracy, being able to land a precise shot on a glass eye while barely able to stand while the glass eye itself is being obscured.

This isn't to say Darcy's intelligence exclusively comes from Marcy, as by themselves the Core was able to help create armour which can match the power of a single Calamity Gem, and figure out how to travel the multiverse using music as coordinates. And by themselves were able to control thousands of Frobots and warships during the invasion against earth.

Arsenal

Belos

Dagger

During the Deadwardian Era, Philip Wittebane used a large dagger to slay his brother, Caleb Wittebane.
This blade is his implement, he'll need it if he wants to do this right.

Diary

A personal book for Philip to jot down his journey, documenting Glyphs, fallen "allies", and general research on the Boiling Isles. He would go on to donate this to the Bonesborough Library, unintentionally creating a closed time loop which would inspire Luz in the future to go back and meet him and therefore teach him the Light Gylph.

Artificial Magic Staff

A staff designed by Belos himself, used to replicate the magical ability of Palismen, not only because of his hate for Witch-kind, but also due to how he requires Palismen to feed upon to keep his form. This staff is capable of replicating any possible Glyph combination, and some other abilities that haven't shown any corresponding Glyph combos, such as generating smoke, blasts of energy, and manipulating minds.

Glyphs

Picto-Glyphs or "Glyphs" are a way of speaking directly to the Titan, speaking its language to use its energy directly for magic. On his own he was able to discover the Ice, Fire and Plant Glyphs, though he needed help from Luz to find the Light Glyph (pictured above). It took him years to find out he could combine them, though with the limited amount of information he had and with his intelligence alone he was able to find some useful combinations. Glyphs also grow in power depending on the size they are drawn, with you being able to replicate any spell Witches can cast with Glyphs, though one mistake will cause chaos.

Light Glyph

The first Glyph Luz discovers and the last Glyph Philip is shown, this Glyph is capable of casting light (as the name suggests), showing all the properties of it (having some amount of power, reflecting off of surfaces and changing in colour). This can also be used as a laser-like attack, and in the Witch's Apprentice game, has some healing properties as well.

Ice Glyph

Found within flakes of snow, the Ice Glyph is surprisingly versatile on its own, being able to make large pillars of ice, though the shape and such can be moulded however you like, being able to make large ice sculptures or icy pops with just a single Glyph. It can also be used to shoot out ice beams or prime itself to attack in multiple locations at once. It is even able to completely freeze the floor, making it slippery for anyone in pursuit. Worst case scenario, you can also use it to make a weapon for yourself.

Plant Glyph

Discovered inside plant life, the Plant Glyph lets you control or grow plants, being able to grow vines under the ground to ensnare foes, create flowers to give as a gift, use as a lasso to redirect yourself or enemies, or even attach to a weapon to disarm an opponent as you clash.

Fire Glyph

The Fire Glyph can be found on any magically charred object, it can be used as direct pyrokinesis, a fuel source, fireballs enough to incinerate large vines, a flamethrower, general heat enough to quickly melt through metal bars, or just set something on fire.

Glyph Combinations (© Lilith Clawthorne)

As the name implies, this is a way to combine Glyphs together. As Glyphs are a way of speaking to the Titan, Glyph Combinations are functionally more elaborate sentences to say more clearly exactly what you want. Belos has been able to use most of these without the need of Glyphs thanks to his staff, so they'll just be listed for completionist sake.

Teleportation

Made with 8 Fire Glyphs, 8 Plant Glyphs and 5 Ice Glyphs, this (frankly massive) Glyph Combination is able to transport the user to any desired location they can think of over massively large distances. Belos used this to enter and leave the Titan's Skull from Bonesborough (the Titan's right arm), where Luz was able to replicate this thanks to being able to copy the same Glyph Combination.

Invisibility

Made with 2 Light Glyphs and 2 Ice Glyphs, this combination will make you invisible for as long as you can hold your breath. It can also be applied to items for a sneaky surprise.

Safety Hover

With 1 Light Glyph, 1 Ice Glyph, and 1 Fire Glyph, this combination ensures you'll never have a fall related injury ever again! (for as long as the Glyph is attached)

Mist Generation

Combining 1 Fire Glyph and 1 Ice Glyph, a large amount of mist is generated, with an optional extra slot at the bottom which can be used to mix outside materials with the Glyph. Notably this was used with a Sleeping Nettle as a form of sleep inducing aroma.

Miscellaneous Combinations

  • Tornado Creation: Able to create a miniature tornado, probably useful for sending opponents away.
  • Water Manipulation: Creates a small amount of flowing water, mostly useless.
  • Petrification: Able to encase an object entirely in stone, also being able to crumble and turn into dust. Belos already has a better version of this which is able to work on large creatures.
  • Monster Summoning: Sends monster hands out of the ground to catch and ensnare foes. Belos also has a better version of this one, being able to summon a giant worm creature thing.

Branding Glove

Designed by Philip after learning of the Draining Spell, it places a sigil of one of the main 9 Covens onto the arm of its target, intended for use on Witches and Demons, though it does still work on Humans. Each sigil acts as a seal for that person's magic, making them unable to use any other variation of magic other than the type indicated by the sigil. They also work as a target for the Draining Spell, causing everyone with a sigil to have their magic drained.

Older iterations of the Branding Glove were defective and instantly paralyzed any Witch/Demon after a sigil was placed on them, though the model was refined and it is unknown if Belos still has the original model.

Ancient Relics

Within the castle walls, Belos keeps relics made for each main Coven, each one being a powerful object associated with that Coven and its magic.

Broken Portal Key

Given to him by Hunter after a seemingly failed mission, the Portal Key contains a small amount of Titan Blood, only enough for a single trip to the Human Realm. Originally, the Portal Key would summon the Portal Door, just by pressing the eye in the middle. Though that no longer works given the real Door was destroyed.

Artificial Portal Door

In an attempt to reach the Human Realm after Luz destroyed the real Portal Door, Belos was able to recreate the technology himself, though it only works if you have the Portal Key, as it contains Titan's Blood, the true fuel which allows travel between worlds.

Titan's Blood

A secret hidden stash of Titan's Blood in the Human Realm, it's a vial with an owl cork containing a small amount of Titan's Blood, able to make a portal back to the Demon Realm, but once again (same as the Portal Key), only enough for a single trip.

McRib

(yes this is official art)

Yummers.

Darcy

Flaming Scythe

As if trying to imitate the Grim Reaper itself, Darcy wields a large scythe with a retractable blade made completely of burning flames. As their go-to weapon, they can spin it around extremely quick, able to block multiple attacking enemies at once. The flames on the scythe also seem to act as a form of cauterization, possibly to prevent any blood being spilled (that's really hard to clean out of the floor you know, and because this is a children's show).
Also it's clearly enchanted with Fire Aspect II

Flaming Dagger

When there's no need to be flashy with a large scythe, a small, quick to the chase dagger will do just fine. It can also be used for precision, being able to be tossed at a running target to completely obliterate their shins.

Wires

Darcy frequently uses wires to attack, block attacks from and restrain foes. Basically metal appendages they can manipulate freely, and if they're in an environment without these wires around, they can get a Frobot with wire arms specifically for the job.

Calamity Gems

Created around 10,000 years ago by the Three Gem Guardian (A.K.A. Domino 3, A.K.A. Dreamino), each gem is filled with Calamity Energy, which is able to create portals to other worlds. Each stone has a different type of Calamity Energy, the Blue Gem representing Heart/Responsibility, the Red/Pink Gem representing Strength/Bravery, and the Green Gem representing Wit/Wisdom.

The Gems are described as having healing properties, are able to help crops grow faster, and are said to be able to cure any disease. Though each Gem does have a limited amount of energy (despite them having been referred to with "limitless power"), where using too much of it at once will drain the gems. Should you need it, they are also able to activate the "Secret Spell", powerful enough to defeat any foe at the cost of the user's life, the only requirement to activate it being simply just to ask (though this would absolutely NOT work for The Core lmao).

The Gems were also capable of giving a vision of the future to Lief, as a warning of what may come. Which stood against the belief the ancient Newtopians had of the Calamity Gems being evidence for their destiny to conquer. While The Core was without the Gems for the longest time, they eventually reclaimed them (almost) at their full power. Though they likely can't take advantage of them to the same extent of the Calamity Trio being able to use them for transformations.

Music Box / Calamity Box

An ancient piece of technology which uses music to pinpoint and travel to parallel worlds. Created by Valeriana thousands of years ago, the Music Box is able to harness the Calamity Energy of all three stones, and is able to channel them through the Newtopian Castle itself. Its small size also allows it to be portable, which is neat considering how it can be used to create interdimensional portals by itself.

Rejuvenation Tank

After Marcy was stabbed through the chest with Andrias' laser sword, she was placed in a rejuvenation tank to have her health restored so she would be fit to become a vessel for The Core. She was still fairly woozy after being taken out prematurely and needed a bit of calibration after being possessed, but after that everything was A-OK! Marcy was just left with a scar on her chest which healed overtime.

Holograms

When Sasha and Anne were planning to attack, they did a strategy that was coincidentally extremely similar to Marcy's favourite movie "War of the Warlocks", where they would fake a frontal assault while sending a small team to sneak in and steal the Music Box while distracting the enemy forces. With the intelligence of the Core and Marcy's traits, Darcy set up a trap involving a holographic Music Box to sneak up on and trap Sasha and Anne, along with the rest of the team with them.

Castle

Ever watched the film "Howl's Moving Castle"? Well ancient Newtopians were such a big fan of the film (that came out thousands of years after they built this... and in another dimension they hadn't even visited yet...) that they decided to make their own take on it! Equipped with a large cannon powered by the Calamity Box itself, this thing has some real firepower, able to blow up entire mountains, and create large portals to transport itself.

Speaking of mobility, this thing is able to fly high up into the clouds, propelled with Calamity Energy and Electromagnetism, it's able to stay in the air for entire months nonstop. Don't assume it standing still would let you hit it either, as it has a large forcefield covering the entire castle (minus the propulsion areas though) which lets troops leave but keeps invaders out. Powered by an internal generator, it's likely not as strong as the cannon, and destroying that generator will turn off the shields, same as removing the Music Box will undo the propulsion or cannon.

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Ube Frosting

Marcy's favourite. Yummy!

Powers & Abilities

Belos

Palisman Physiology

While originally, Belos was a regular human with no real physiological differences, in order to increase his lifespan, he would take to absorbing the souls of Palismen to ensure he'd live long enough to see his plans through. Through the souls of the Palismen, Belos achieved some form of faux magic, which would give him a massive boost in power, though the souls of the Palismen would continue to bother him in his inner mind.

This would transform his body, making it so he would need to replenish magical power from the Palismen in order to keep his "witch" form, without it, turning into a massive goop monster, capable of shapeshifting however he needs, or just growing really really tall. Even after being splattered against a wall by a literal god, he's still able to live on as just a pile of goo, just a drop of it being able to latch on to someone or possess animals or people when needed.

Telepathy / Clairvoyance

Even while multiple rooms away, Belos still has eyes everywhere. When Luz, Willow and Gus were attempting to steal the Healing Hat, Belos was able to telepathically talk to all three of them at the same time, being fully aware of what they were doing and what they were talking about. Later on, we get a semi-confirmation of how far Belos' influence spreads, having less reach outside of the cities, though that doesn't mean he has no reach or influence, just less.

Teleportation

Likely a light application of Illusion Magic, Belos has the ability to teleport himself, he's also used it in a way similar to Abomination magic, transforming and reforming his body in a different place. He's been able to use this to transport himself from the Titan's Ribcage to its Head.

Telekinesis

Belos is able to cover foes in a red aura, which he can then send flying. He was even able to fling back Kikimora and her giant Abomatron mech with ease.

Mind Manipulation

Using his staff, Belos can separate Eda from the Owl Beast, giving her full consciousness in her Owl Beast form. In later episodes, we can see Eda's relationship with the Owl Beast in her mind, essentially this is giving her full control over the Owl Beast temporarily by overpowering the Owl Beast within her head.

Petrification

One of the most powerful spells, Belos is able to induce petrification on whoever he wishes. Being able to control the speed of this, from covering half of the Owl Beast in seconds, to being slow enough to let Luz trick him and get him to reverse it. Petrification is usually used as a form of extreme punishment, being a fate worse than death, though if uncompleted, can be healed by a healing spell.

Shapeshifting

Thanks to his Palisman physiology, Belos can shapeshift himself however he needs, creating large arms, turning his hand into a scythe, becoming a large bubbling pile of goo in the floor, living on as just a singular drop of goo or with barely half of his body left.

Summoning

Throughout the years, Belos has created several "Grimwalkers" to act as hid right hand men, Grimwalkers being copies of a person, specifically being done to recreate Belos' dead brother Caleb Wittebane. Using a Galdorstone as a heart and power source, Palistrom Wood for keratin, Stonesleeper Lungs for lungs, the scales of a Selkidomus, and bone of an Ortet. Belos is also capable of summoning a giant worm demon at will, and can also summon Monster Hands to ensnare a foe.

Coven Magic

While Belos doesn't usually partake in any specific form of Magic, through his Coven Heads, he has a prodigy of any specific type of magic at his disposal at all times. Though he himself could also likely be capable of replicating all other forms of magic given his experience and reputation as the most skilled witch in the Boiling Isles.

For the proper list of abilities granted from this, [See Support].

The Day of Unity / Draining Spell

Through the help of the Collector, Belos was able to discover the Draining Spell, which channels through 9 powerful witches and the power of the eclipse to drain the power of the entire Boiling Isles. This locks the moon in place, though moving it out of the way immediately stop the spell and its effects.

Miscellaneous Spells

While most magic is associated with a specific type, there's a sizeable chunk that isn't obviously or implied to be owned by any specific Coven, and able to be used by multiple Witches with different Coven Sigils.

Hexes / Enchantments

Hexes are more niche form of magic, basically encompassing all curses placed on people or objects. We never see directly how a hex is made, but they're a known thing throughout the Isles and can likely be casted on people directly, meaning they should be fine to talk about.

Darcy

Collective Physiology

The Core is a collective of all of Amphibia's greatest minds, assimilating more minds into itself over thousands of years. This means the Core is technically at least hundreds of people over countless generations in one body. This allows them to do things like track multiple screens at once through many different eyes, or do hundreds of calculations at once by everyone within the Core researching at the same time. Each individual mind still retains its full personality, wisdom and memories, so it is still possible to make them unsure of themselves if they cannot come to a consensus within the collective.

Within their mindscape, they have full control, being able to warp the entire area within, capable of making a grand adventure with a glistening night sky, only to reduce it all to darkness in a mere moment after something goes wrong. This also means they can simply lock any invaders in a room to keep them occupied, or make an environment specifically tailored to them to make sure they never escape.

Limited Telepathy / Willpower Manipulation

Through Andrias' Crown, The Core is capable of speaking to him telepathically, being able to talk to him to ask for help while the Final Gambit is just over earth. When he was losing the will to fight against Anne, The Core manually went out of its way to force Andrias to regain his will and fight. And when Marcy originally met Andrias, The Core had a discussion with him in his mind to try and convince him to kill her.

Retrocognition

Through the many eyes of the Core, they are capable of scanning a person and viewing their past in order to better manipulate them. Capable of viewing Olivia's ancestors and Marcy's school life, while these are things that the Core would know about (though likely in less detail than what is shown), Yunnan's fear of Grubhogs is extremely unlikely to be something they already knew about, thus meaning it likely viewed their entire pasts.

This is used in tandem with the next ability, being...

Smoke Manipulation / Illusion Creation

The Core is capable of sending out large puffs of smoke to obscure foes, it's also able to generate illusions, which they used to distract Sasha to land a cheap shot when she wasn't looking. It can also be used to make areas seem far more vast than they really are, and can give precise specific illusions to specific people within a group. And them being illusions means they physically cannot be interacted with, though that also means conversely they cannot interact with others. The only way to remove the illusions is by destroying the Core's eyes.

Magic

Magic users are rare throughout Amphibia, it mostly being an ancient art most history was erased of, though this fits the backstory of The Core erasing Amphibia's old history to cover their tracks, meaning The Core more than likely knows and can use magic. They also inherited Marcy's traits and memories, with Marcy having been Maddie's apprentice in learning magic, meaning they'd be aware regardless. Andrias was also originally going to use magic in concept art, though this was later scrapped and only works as supporting evidence.

Forms

Belos

Philip Wittebane

A disguise so convincing, you might actually believe Belos is really a human underneath it all! The form Belos takes throughout most of the series, it needs to be sustained actively through the artificial magic of a Palisman. In this state, Belos pretty much acts and fights like a typical Witch/Demon (or I guess, an "above average" Witch/Demon more like it).

Goop Monster

Technically Belos' "True Form", when he lacks artificial magic to sustain his disguised form. In this form, Belos can shapeshift his body parts at will, being able to rearrange his limbs or turn his arm into a scythe, being able to extend over a decently large distance if he so wants. He can also live on as just a tiny amount of goop and can manipulate any part of him even after being separated, like he did when restraining Raine. Don't let his monstrous size fool you however, as even in this state he can literally run circles around you, even being able to outpace Raine while literally lacking a bottom half of his body.

Possession

Should a small amount of his goo be ingested, placed within your bloodstream, or even just land on your body, Belos can take place within your mind. Slowly regaining body mass as he fully takes over your body and mind, doing this to several wild animals throughout his time in the Human Realm. He is also able to use this to take over inorganic beings, like when he took over Raine's body after it had been turned into a puppet. Though this mostly did weaken Raine's own possession and allowed them to fight back against him. As Hunter was also able to rebel against his control after being possessed.

Titan Form

After learning of the Titan's Heart, Belos would take over the heart and drain its power, slowly regaining its mass and taking over the Boiling Isles completely, being able to permanently raise its arm into the sky. He also was able to create a giant kaiju version of himself to fight back against Luz, Eda, King and The Collector for an extended period of time. Along with having several eyes on his body to help keep track of multiple foes at once.

Belos' true self resides within the Titan's heart in this form, where he can also generate more Corruption or even some small minions to defend himself should he need to. His fusionism in the heart is so great, Luzan needed a ton of effort and some Glyphs empowering her to rip him out, though should he be ripped out his connection to the Titan will be severed, destroying his Titan form and all his Corruption.

Corruption

Upon taking over the Titan's heart, Belos spread corruption throughout the Isles, covering buildings and recreating the Titan's body mass. This corruption is also able to nullify magical abilities, like when The Collector attempted to revive Luz after she was killed, only to find himself unable to and being confused, and Raine being unable to use Bard Magic while covered in the Corruption. Though The Collector was able to use some other magical abilities, meaning it likely doesn't fully nullify all magic. This Corruption can also entirely cover a person and kill them in seconds, though it can still be destroyed fairly easily on its own.

Laser Breathing

Another form of spreading Corruption, Titan Belos can shoot a laser from his mouth. Though sometimes it seems to be purely for spreading Corruption, other times it is also seen to create explosions, however it can be blocked fairly easily by a forcefield.

Darcy

The Core

The primary form The Core is in for a majority of the series, The Core is a large metallic sphere body with tentacles it can use to move around and grab things. The Core can control nearby technology and cast smoke and illusions. The Core in this form is mostly limited to a single room within the Newtopian Castle, so not really fully applicable within a fight.

Core Helmet

Through the Helmet, the Core was able to imbue its collective consciousness within Marcy Wu, completely depowering the main body and placing it within the Helmet. Even after being severed from Marcy, the Helmet is able to move on its own with spider-like legs, and can use thrusters within it to fly to the moon.

Possession

After being placed upon Marcy Wu, the Core took over her body, inheriting all of her consciousness and all of her traits. This did take some calibration first as Marcy had just been restored after being stabbed through the chest (and had difficulty walking), but after calibration they were able to use her body at its fullest potential without any issue. However, the possession of the body held within is reliant on a wire connected to the Helmet, with it being damaged meaning the Core can no longer possess a body for as long as it is detached.

Crown Core

While the main body of The Core is separate, their minds are also linked with the crown Andrias wears on his head at all times, able to communicate with him while the main body is kilometres away, and can even force him to continue fight should he ever lose his will. This is further shown as The Core upon first meeting Marcy, was able to have an entire extended conversation with Andrias in his own mind.

Darcy Wu

After find the perfect host in Marcy Wu, the Core possessed her, delighted to now have a body to interact with the world in. Technically in this state, The Core isn't exclusively "The Core" or "Marcy Wu", but more of a combination of the two due to the Core now inheriting her traits. This form is still somewhat limited by a chord connecting The Core to the Newtopian Castle, though Darcy has full control within the castle, being able to fully manipulate its walls, or activate illusions at will.

Final Gambit

Back when they were still in power, the Core had moved all of its pet projects to the moon, and out of fear of potentially being destroyed, made a final gambit which would take over the moon and destroy Amphibia and all of its life. The moon has also been filled with defences to defend itself from any potential attackers. The thrusters on the back of the moon are not only powerful enough to slam it into Amphibia, but also are able to push back against The Calamity Trio and thousands of (damaged) Frobots. Anne could only destroy the moon by utilizing the Secret Spell, which completely pulverized the moon in its entirety, even raising a new continent after the moon had been destroyed.

The Shut-In

Technically not an ability of The Core per se but more of a general thing the moon can do. Once a year, the moon turns blue and turns anyone that looks upon it into a hulking monster, turning it into a tradition to visit other houses for supplies and tell each other scary stories to remind them to not go outside and accidentally look at the moon. Though looking at the moon doesn't transform you instantly, after a short period of time, it turned Polly into some kind of beast with large arms and tons of fur. This seemingly wore off after the Shut-In ended.

Armies/Support

Belos

Coven Scouts

The average goons every army needs. Coven Scouts work directly for the Emperor, all in the Emperor's Coven, able to use any form of Magic they know how. While some are decently incompetent, others are far more skilled, crafty, and knowledgeable on how best to use their spells. They also frequently work in groups, and are trained to work together. They also sometimes utilize weapons like swords or nets, and other times a variation called "Coven Guards" are sent on patrol, who are essentially just more heavy duty Coven Scouts as a sort of police force.

Warden Wrath

The former Warden of the Conformatorium and leader of the Coven Guards... until he was caught stealing his co-worker's lunches too many times. Able to shapeshift his arms however he needs, from tentacles (seen above) for movement or restraining foes, to a scythe for cutting your head off. Also being able to breathe fire too because why not. After being demoted, he went on to excel in the Bonesborough Brawl, just so he could feel important again.

Abomaton 2.0s

Originally created as a form of home security from Blight Industries, all models were bought by the Emperor, and both Alador and Odalia Blight were commissioned by the Emperor's Coven to continue making models for them. They can pour tea, help you keep up with the latest trends, and best of all, will defend you against any unwanted visitors.

Minor Shapeshifting

As their bodies are made of Abomination Magic, they're able to shapeshift their limbs however they need, claws, hammers, whatever. This also makes them resistant to most physical forms of damage, as they can simply shapeshift their bodies to fix any injury.

Energy Projectiles

Seen above, they're able to shift their arms into makeshift blasters to shoot energy right through their target.

Forcefield Generation

Through projecting some sort of shield from the orb on its chest. The Abomaton 2.0 can make a forcefield strong enough to contain the entire population of Bonesborough attempting to push through it. It's also able to make one to contain someone in a bubble if needed.

Alarm System

Every Abomaton is designed with an alarm system to make alerts of any intruders or trespassers, though Alador once created an Abomaton filled with alarms to make sure his daughter Amity would stay out of the Bonesborough Brawl.

Kikimora

The assistant to Emperor Belos, useful for her intricate little plans. She would eventually be demoted to an airship worker, though she did later get a sick new mech to punch down on people with. She is loyal to Belos to the absolute end, willing to sell out her own family for a chance to be promoted.

Princess

A dragon-like hand beast demon pet Kikimora can call at will using a whistle, mostly being used for transporting cargo from large distances, though this isn't as great as some other vehicles Kikimora gets access to.

Airships

After being demoted from the Emperor's assistant, she was assigned to cargo duty, working several airships for transporting goods. Kikimora isn't the only one who has access to Airships however, as they are common throughout other members.

Abomatron

Equipped with 700 Snorsepower, 2 Fairy-Powered Jetpacks, and coming in several shades of lilac, the Abomatron is essentially a buffed up Abomaton 2.0 which functions as a mech (and with jetpacks!), able to use massively more powerful versions of anything the Abomatons can do (minus the shapeshifting seemingly).

Coven Heads

For every Coven, there is a Head Witch to lead it. Each one being renowned for their power and skill within their specialized group of magic. While there are Secondary Covens like the Baker's Coven, Tiny Cat Coven, or even the Tiniest Kitten Coven, only the main 9 have Coven Leaders, those being the Abomination, Bard, Beast Keeping, Construction, Healing, Illusionist, Oracle, Plant and Potions Covens.

Abomination Magic

Through Darius Dreamonne, Belos has the top Abomination Magic wielder within his back pocket (he also has Alador Blight, though he's mostly just an engineer and not a direct fighter, and thus won't be listed fully). Darius does rebel against Belos' rule, though for the sake of this fight he does still follow Belos' orders mostly, and would fight against an invader like The Core regardless of which side he's on, thus he is fairgame to use.

Slime Manipulation

The primary use of Abomination Magic is to manipulate an oozy substance called "Abomination Goo", though if this specific slime isn't nearby or available, substitutes can be used with any slimy or muddy substance (though some Abomination Magic users keep vials of Abomination Goo on their person just for this). This can be used for any form of general shapeshifting, creating mittens/gloves, spikes, or large arms to hold something in place.

Summoning

The main thing Abomination Magic users use their Abomination Slime for, is for making Abominations. Large hulking slime beasts are able to transform their entire body at will to grapple or overpower foes. Abominations can also be specifically programmed, and can be used for basically any necessities that may require another person.

Entrapment

Using Abomination Slime, Darius can completely ensnare foes in an instant, which is difficult to dodge given it forms directly around the target.

Transportation

Abomination Magic users are able to form Abominations and Abomination Slime at will at any location, which if wrapped around someone, can completely transport them and others. Darius can also use this to transport himself, and was able to transport a group of people from a prison cell to an airship above the clouds, as seen above.

Bard Magic

Through Raine Whispers, the Head of the Bard Coven, a master of all types of instruments, from the Gui-Scar to the Organ. Bard Magic specializes in weaponizing sound, though musical melodies are much more effective. While Bard Spells are extremely powerful, they have a weakness of being unable to affect those who cannot hear it. Though Raine does actively work against Belos, they do still play a part in his plans. Later on they eventually start getting brainwashed into working with the Emperor due to finding a replacement to be too much of a hassle.

Weapon Creation

Every musician needs their instrument, Bard Magic users are able to summon instruments to them at will.

Power Nullification

With just a single note, Bard Spells are able to nullify any magic being casted by others.

Minor Reality Warping

Through music, they're able to affect large areas with a wave which causes small objects to levitate. This can even be able to cover a large amount of a forest at once.

Body Puppetry

DANCE TO THE MUSIC. DANCE. TO. THE MUSIC.

Smokescreen

The perfect escape plan! with a deep note, they can fill an area with a pink smoke. Perfect for escaping (as long as you map the area out first for routes).

Sleep Inducement

With a light tune, they can play music so soothing it'll put you right to sleep.

Restriction

Seemingly an extension of their body puppetry ability, they can take control of loose clothes to wrap around and restrict their target.

Sonic Attacks

With a quick strum, they are able to shoot out musical melodies to cut through opponents.

Storm Creation / Lightning Manipulation

Once they stop going easy, they can generate a minor thunderstorm to shoot electrical attacks.

Shockwave Creation

With a quick strum of their violin, they can send out a blast which pushes foes away.

Molecular Manipulation

By using soundwaves, Raine is able to manipulate the molecules of any liquid. Using this to change the flavour of unsavoury drinks as a teen, and using this to negate the effects of Terra's mind altering tea leaves as an adult.

Combustion

As seen in the above gif, Raine is able to incinerate a letter after whistling on it. Only applicable to small flammable objects.

Forcefield Creation

In a last ditch effort to try and prevent Belos from taking over the Titan's heart, Raine placed a forcefield around the entire throne room to block Belos.

Beast Keeping Magic

Eberwolf the Huntsman is the Lead Witch of the Beast Keeping Coven, which specializes in, you guessed it, keeping beasts. Specifically taming and controlling them, along with being able to summon them at will. Eberwolf is the last of the Coven Heads working against Belos, but like Darius, he will still be included for the same reasons.

Summoning

A good Beast Keeper needs a place to keep their beasts, with Eberwolf being able to summon beasts either through a large Spell Circle, through himself, or just by calling them from nearby like other Beast Keeping Magic users have done. A list of the Beasts shown to be used from this kind of magic includes:

  • Ratworm: Large worms with the faces and traits of rats. They are often used as mounts for racing or pulling cargo, as they can move deceptively fast compared to the animals they're based on.
  • Fire Bees: Bees which are on fire, able to enlarge their flames at will and shoot flaming honey at targets.
  • Flesh Eating Beetles: At will, Eberwolf can summon a large horde of flesh eating beetles, enough to completely cover a large person. They have also been described as being able to eat people whole, albeit really small people.
  • Griffin: Most of the myths within the Human Realm originate from the Demon Realm, which includes the existence of Griffins, large lion-like beasts with several traits from pigeons. They're able to fly above clouds and can breathe spiders, just because.

Bodily Weaponry / Transformation

At will, Eberwolf is able to activate a more bestial form, growing large claws and fangs throughout his body. Given his teeth are already strong enough to break through metal chains, his bite force would be exceptionally strong in this form.

Enhanced Senses

Through his keen sense of smell, Eberwolf is able to discern which member from a group is specifically the leader from scent alone.

Tracking

By placing a Spell Circle on his forehead, Eberwolf can amplify his sight to see footpaths that were previously invisible to the eye, placing them under a spotlight that makes them visible to others as well.

Burrowing

Eberwolf is able to burrow through the ground to pop up in locations, not much else to note.

Construction Magic

Mason is the Head Witch of the Construction Coven, with Construction Spells mainly utilizing the earth itself for building and general geokinesis. He's also exceptionally strong, and able to work as a typical brawl fighter if needed, being strong enough to lift entire stacks of bricks into the air. We never really see much of him throughout the series though, and same goes for most of the other Coven Heads.

Earth Manipulation

Construction Magic users can manipulate the earth at will, either as large projectiles, walls for blocking attacks, creating tools, or burying opponents when needed.

Power Glyphs

The only form of Glyphs that are actually used by the wider population of Witches, Power Glyphs increase your power tenfold, with characters portrayed as physically weak before becoming strong enough to lift people much larger than themselves over their head. Mason keeps a stack of these on himself at all times seemingly.

Hammer

A large hammer with a Power Glyph symbol on it, seemingly empowering it a large amount. Not much else to note.

Healing Magic

Hettie Cutburn is the Head Witch of the Healing Coven, with Healing Magic specializing in, you guessed it, healing! whether it be injury or curses, the Healing Coven is there for you! Just like Mason, we barely see her throughout the series, in fact she's probably the Head Witch we see the least of, or at least tied for that position. This means there won't exactly be much to say for some of these, so do expect smaller descriptions in a bit.

Healing

As you'd expect, those who use Healing Magic are exceptionally good at healing, being able to instantly heal an entire body covered in scratches or heal a broken arm, with Lilith even being able to heal off the Owl Beast's petrification after half of her had been petrified. However this seemingly does have a limit as larger and more serious wounds do take longer to heal.

Forcefield Creation

The best way to heal others is to not be injured in the first place! We can see Viney (Healing/Beast Keeping tracks) use a barrier to block an incoming attack. Given the barrier's hue and shape of a hand (like the Healing Coven Sigil), this is likely from her Healing Magic, and thus is applicable here.

Surgical Tools / Telekinesis

With the singular time we see Hettie doing something, being her launching a scalpel at Eberwolf's head to then catch it mid air with Telekinesis.

Illusion Magic

Adrian Graye Vernworth is the leader of the Illusionist Coven, and one of the top Illusionists in the world. I say "one of" due to it being apparent that Gus Porter is actually superior to him when using his maximum capabilities. Despite this, Adrian should still be comparable to more casual showings from Gus, so those will be taken into account. Adrian himself is extremely snobby, essentially being the worst film director you've ever seen, and STOP BEING MEAN TO SEVERINE SHE'S DOING HER BEST.

Illusion Creation

Illusion Magic is the ability to create illusions. Though it has been stated to not be real and "not really there", Illusion Magic has been able to create constructs that physically interact with objects, like an amplifier or creating arms for another person. Illusion Magic has also been able to change one's appearance, not only with objects like the Concealment Stones but also through active uses like increasing height or accidentally removing your own face (see above gif), which is shown further when it is used on a person to make it seem like their powers aren't working and that their bodies are decaying. This is often used for making duplicates of yourself to then use to fake out or dodge attacks from an opponent.

Lastly, the ability to cast illusions isn't just limited to yourself, others, or just making constructs. You are also able to cast an illusion over a large area, Gus Porter being able to cast illusions over all of Hexside, an Illusionist Graveyard, and an entire Abomaton Factory. Which can then be used to conceal yourself or amplify one of the above abilities.

Illusion Negation

The ability to cast illusions is also a great way to un-cast them, though Illusions can be negated through physical touch quite consistently, only Illusionists have the ability to do it non-physically over considerable distances.

Teleportation

Another example of Illusion Magic seemingly affecting things physically, just like when casting an illusion on a person, Adrian can disappear into a puff of smoke, which then causes him to re-appear in another location.

Magic Amplifier

While Illusionist Magic can't be amplified usually through means such as the Galdorstones, using a "Magic Amplifier" earring on his left ear, Adrian can enhance the power of his illusions, being able to look into someone's memories, or look straight through any illusions being cast by others. He was also able to negate Gus' school-wide illusion from changing to an extent, meaning it would likely be able to match its level somewhat (though it would not be comparable to the big illusion Gus creates at the end of the episode to incapacitate Adrian).

Film Equipment

Every good director needs good equipment, Adrian with a team of Coven Scouts has a ton of equipment to make sure his illusions and actors stay as convincing as possible.

Oracle Magic

Osran is the leader of the Oracle Coven, making him the greatest at using Oracle Magic, specializing in anything psychic/spiritual. Osran also only appears like a couple times and does basically nothing lmao.

Fortune Telling

The ability to see someone's future starts with seeing their end, where they must then work backwards to read their fortunes. They can also make predictions, mostly just things that will happen in a couple seconds though. Along with being able to show someone their own death, because why not!

Summoning

Through a crystal ball they can carry on them, Oracle Magic users can summon spirits to fight for them. These spirits are intangible, and can take the form of a full on being or just a hand to grab people.

Limited Telepathy

Along with summoning essentially entire Stands to fight for them, Crystal Balls are also able to project thoughts from one person to another, as long as that ball is linked to another one which remains in tact and with that other person.

Crystal Ball

The item which Oracle Magic users use to use their magic, it is a glass ball which can be shattered quite easily, though Osran keeps watch on his at all times. They can also be used as a sort of Television, with Luz even using one to watch Amphibia!

Plant Magic

Terra Snapdragon is the Head Witch of the Plant Coven. She utilizes plant life for all her needs. She loves plant puns and sadistically toying with those below her. Plant Spells involve manipulating or creating plant life to do your bidding. Her age makes her super experienced with using her magic, and has been able to build quite a reputation for herself throughout the series.

Plant Manipulation

Plant Magic users are able to manipulate all forms of plant life at will and however they please, being able to grow a small seed into a large root covering an entire large room, reviving dead plants, or growing a plant directly on top of a person just for the sake of it.

Poison Manipulation

Plus, everyone knows all Grass Types know a few poison moves.

Hedge Maze Creation

In H.E.C.K. Terra created an entire hedge maze to play "Wilds VS Covens." Not much else to note, pretty self explanatory.

Tunnelling

Using root systems underneath the ground, Terra can move herself and others to new locations without any indication of their presence otherwise. This has also been able to be used in areas which logically wouldn't have root systems, like underneath the sea, meaning they can also likely make their own root systems via Plant Magic.

Restriction

Terra is able to utilize her magic to restrain others, even being able to restrain Princess, Kikimora's large pet hand dragon thing. Plant Magic has also been used to grab people's limbs to restrict them in the past.

Mind Manipulation

When Raine was starting to act against the Emperor's Coven, Terra would take it upon herself to amend this, using tea leaves generated from her palm to alter Raine's memories of the past in order to get them to stay obedient.

Potions Magic

Through Vitmir, Belos has the top Potionsmith at all times... That's literally all there is to note here. This guy does literally NOTHINGGGG.

Poison Breath

Vitmir can breathe poison gas... cool?? I guess??

Brewing

The Potions Coven as a whole specializes in brewing potions for different effects. This does not inherently require any amount of magic from the user, though some of the effects can seemingly be applied with Magic alone without a potion.

As the head of the Potion Coven, Vitmir would likely be capable of brewing potions which are capable of:
  • Curse Healing: When Gwendolyn Clawthorne was trying to find a way to heal her daughter Edalyn, one of the many Covens she attempted to get for help was the Potions Coven, implying they do have methods of healing other's curses. Morton (and later Lilith) are also able to temporarily treat Edalyn's curse, which extends through her own mind.
  • Animation: Edalyn makes a potion to bring objects to life when poured on them. King then later uses this same potion to bring stuffed animals to life.
  • Fog Brews: From the small amount of time Luz was in the Potions Track, she was taught how to brew Fog Potions to create a smokescreen.
  • Visions: By placing an Oracle Orb into a Cauldron, you are able to create a vision of death. Kinda gruesome but whatever.
  • Size Manipulation: Tibbles was able to make a spray that shrinks you upon contact, only being undone when he slaps his cheeks
  • Scrying Potion: With Fire Bee Honey, Porcupine Quills, Snaggleback Snaggleteeth and Fairy Tears, a Scrying Potion can be cooked up which allows you to peek inside buildings and spy on people from large distances away.
  • Blabber Serum/Transmutation: With Dandruff from a Skin Badger, Fairy Spit, Scrummy Worms and other ingredients which can't really be read, you can create a serum that will cause those who ingest it to only speak the truth. Adding Fire Bee Honey causes the serum to instead turn you into a hulking beast (though extremely cold temperatures reverse this).
  • Immersion: Darius, Raine and Eberwolf attempted to enter the Emperor's mind via a potion and spell that would allow them to jump in from a large distance away. Eda then later attempted a similar brew to help Luz and Hunter escape when they got caught within the spell.
  • Sleeping Nettles: Sleeping Nettles are a form of plant through the Isles which can cause you to become tired after inhaling its scent. This can then be brewed into a potion that causes people to almost immediately fall asleep after smelling it.
  • Acid: Boscha throws an acid potion, not much else to say (it counts... probably).

The Golden Guard / Hunter

Hunter is the youngest Scout to ever earn the ranking of "Golden Guard," an elite title which places him in charge of all Coven Scouts, equipped with an artificial staff just like Belos' own, and outranking even the 9 main Coven Heads! Hunter is also supposedly Belos' "nephew," though it's later revealed that he is actually a Grimwalker created in the image of Belos' brother, Caleb Wittebane.

Flapjack

The original Palisman of Caleb Wittebane, with it, Hunter essentially has a friend aiding him in battle at all times, able to think and act on its own unlike a regular Artificial Staff. Flapjack would later go on to sacrifice himself to save Hunter, though that is much after Belos' prime, meaning Hunter will have access to Flapjack for this fight.
(Hunter should also have access to most of Belos' own abilities via his staff and vice versa, thus meaning they can essentially share their abilities in a sense).

Dash

In the blink of an eye, Hunter can move large distances by increasing his movement speed artificially, appearing as a blur to other characters.

Teleportation

Though it may look the same as his dash ability, Hunter has used this seemingly as a form of teleportation, using it to escape from Amity binding him in Abomination Goo.

Lightning Generation

Ohhh don't you fucking "Oh Hunter" me. You look down on me? you pity me? walk away. That's right Belos. You know why I didn't take the job? Because it's too SMALL. I don't care about it. It's nothing to me. It's a bacterium. I travel in worlds you can't even imagine. You can't conceive of what I'm capable of. I'm so far beyond you. I'm like a Titan in Witch clothing. Lightning bolts shoot from my Palisman!

Earth Manipulation

In his very first (major) appearance, Hunter is able to manipulate the earth to move himself and Luz/Eda. During his fight with Amity at Eclipse Lake, he also makes another fist from the ground to attack her.

Telekinesis

Similar to his "uncle", Hunter can use his artificial staff to cause others to levitate and move them around freely.

Creation

Pretty simple, Hunter uses his staff to create a sword for Luz and Eda to slay the Selkidomus.

The Collector

Trapped within the In Between Realm by the Papa Titan long ago and only able to interact with reality through the form of a shadow, before being found by Philip Wittebane in the 1660s. The Collector is a part of an ancient race called "The Archivists," setting out to archive all life for preservation. The Collector is extremely powerful and knowledgeable, so powerful and knowledgeable that Belos actively feared him, keeping them trapped within the tablet such that their knowledge would not get out.

Through the guidance of the Collector, Belos was able to find out how to become the most skilled witch on the Boiling Isles, and how to use the Draining Spell, which he would use to attempt to wipe out the Isles completely. The In Between Realm itself is between every alternate reality, meaning The Collector should theoretically be able to peer into alternate worlds to discover anything about them. His existence as a shadow on the wall also means that he is impossible to get rid of unless you know to target his tablet, and as a shadow being able to manipulate his form freely.

The way Belos manipulated The Collector into aiding him was with the promise of releasing him via the power of a Titan, which is something Belos could theoretically do at any time, though whether or not he'd do it for a versus scenario is iffy [See Before the Verdict].

Darcy

King Andrias Leviathan

The son of Aldrich Leviathan, Andrias is 30ft tall, and has gotten cybernetic enhancements which allowed him to live for 1000 years. His obscenely large physicality makes him above pretty much every base tier character, letting him leap massive heights and knock people over just by stomping or jumping.

Energy Sword

A blade fit for a king. Able to retract through a gem inside the urchin in the base, this is a sword made of pure flames, able to stab straight through any 13 year old's chest. It's even able to generate shockwaves through stabbing into the ground.

Energy Shield

Andrias was able to generate a shield to block Incomplete Calamity Anne's attack, though it was eventually overpowered and shattered.

Dyoplosaurus Armour

A powerful piece of armour that has been under construction for over a thousand years. Its massive size is due to how it was designed specifically for King Andrias and for his ancestors. This armour was capable of keeping up with Anne Boonchuy in her Incomplete Calamity form.

Frobots

The primary cannon fire throughout The Core's army, Frobots are mass produced in factories spread out all throughout Amphibia. Equipped with several laser cannons (or just shoot lasers from their eyes), their versatility is no joke, and has been compared to a swiss army knife, which makes sense given they can turn their arms into axes, can be turned into a grill, be used for farming, shoot missiles, act as a DVD Projector, become a more "compact ball form", and can track foes and signal for reinforcements when needed. They even celebrate Christmas! How jolly!

Cloak-Bots

More specialized and less produced variation of Frobots, Cloak-Bots are able to track energy signatures with a tracker in its head, turn invisible (though it gets negated by magnetic fields), wrap its arm around itself for added power or using as a drill (along with being able to shoot a laser within its arm, or just shoot lasers from its eyes), hack into local frequencies and track targets from them, or just turn its arm into an axe. They seemingly even have a mind of their own, being able to adapt and upgrade itself on the fly when damaged.

Dragonfly Drone Scouts

Through a compartment underneath its head, the Cloak-Bot can shoot out large hordes of Drone Scouts. Equipped with large laser cannons which create large explosions when they land.

Self Destruction

Unbeknownst to the Cloak-Bot itself, it has a bomb inside of its chest, which can be activated by Andrias at any given time with a 1 hour timer. The explosion generated from the bomb is deceptively big, able to split entire clouds in the sky. This is mostly only used as a last resort move, as it would cause too much collateral damage no matter where it is used.

Drone Soldier

On Christmas, Andrias was given a Drone Soldier Prototype, which he then gave for a test drive to see if they were worth mass producing. Able to be controlled remotely with a controller and VR headset, the Drone Soldier is equipped with laser cannons, regular cannons, and multiple machine guns. When necessary, it can even take over large objects and modify them to be used in battle, like when it took over a large Santa Float. This Santa Float, after being modified, was able to shoot lasers from its eyes and mouth, keep up on foot with a float car, throw present bombs, breathe fire, and even generate a laser Christmas Tree Shield. Though even after being modified, it was still based on a regular Santa Float, meaning any piercing object would be able to stab right through.

Surinam Frobots

A much larger, heavy duty Frobot, able to fire heat seeking missiles out of its arms, and a large rocket out of its chest. It took a considerable effort from Sasha and Grime to eliminate it. The purpose of this Frobot being to eliminate Sasha and Grime due to being a threat to Andrias.

Dwarf Frobots

Like IRL Surinam Frogs, this Frobot is able to shoot miniature Frobots out of its back, acting as much more light-weight variations of Frobots. They do easily get taken out however, so their strength is in numbers.

Judge Frobot

Here to object to anyone disturbing the peace. While ordinarily it simply appears stationary, with a quick transformation, it can become mobile and equip a large hammer. It can also deploy corporal punishment, which is just straight up missiles.

Executioner Frobots

Minions of the larger Judge-Bot, nothing really to note, other than having decently large battle axes used for decapitation.

Miscellaneous Frobots

Honestly there are just so many variations of Frobots for very specific needs which honestly don't need their own section despite being somewhat notable to an extent. Here are the rest of The Core's Frobots:
  • Flamethrower Frobots: After locating what they believed to be a resistance base, The Core sent a ton of Frobots equipped with flamethrowers to just burn the entire place down.
  • Royal Guard Frobots: Frobots that act as a direct line of defence for the Newtopian Castle, they can shapeshift their arms into a rapier, a shield or a mace for whatever they may need.
  • Silver Tank Frobots: Larger, more heavy duty Frobots, with maces for hands and much more powerful than every other Frobot.
  • Bulldozer Frobots: Bulldozer but like frog themed I guess lmao.
  • Steamroller Frobot: ROAD ROLLER DA! MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA!!!!!
  • Laser Cannon Shield Generator: The power generator for The Core's laser cannons, equipped with claws and a shell like a crab, made to be able to defend itself should anyone try and turn off the generators (though it is stationary, along with said laser cannons).
  • Drill Frobot: Used to drill into the ground for resources to fuel their conquest, a big ass Frobot with a big ass drill. THIS DRILL IS THE DRILL THAT WILL TRANSCEND THE HEAVENS.
  • Butler Frobot: Fitted with a classy tuxedo, these just act as servants to serve drinks and such for Andrias or The Core.

General Yunnan & Lady Olivia

General Yunnan! Scourge of the Sand Wars! Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched! And the youngest newt to ever reach the rank of General in the Great Newtopian Army! (and Olivia). While originally very much against Andrias' plans, they were fitted with Mind Control Collars to force them to fight for Andrias. While Olivia doesn't have any notable equipment on her person (other than some tea I guess), General Yunnan is equipped with arm blades which let her climb on walls like some kind of spider, man! Their fighting capabilities together are also exceptional and perfectly in sync, being a match for Sasha, Anne, Grime and Sprig at the same time, only being defeated when Sasha and Anne tried utilizing their own teamwork.

Various Mind Controlled Wildlife

During their conquest over Amphibia, Andrias and The Core developed a way to take advantage of its resources, even enslaving the wildlife itself to work for them. Using mind control enzymes from a spore species (you may know as Apothecary Gary), they're able to dominate the mind of animals, such that something like the Plantar Family Dance can only work once removed, a dance completely able to entrance and disorient you.

While we only see a few different controlled creatures in the show, given The Core's conquest and how widespread their control is, they should likely have most every other creature in their repertoire. Some notable wildlife that would be under their control includes:

  • Coastal Killamoth: Giant cat butterflies. Starting their life as essentially kitten caterpillars, they can grow overnight into giant moths who can generate large gusts of wind with the flap of their wings. They're also able to fly in circles for days on end, which was used to power generators for The Core. Even while mind controlled, they still need breaks and retain cat-like behaviours. (also the kittens can be used as an accordion)
  • Zapapedes: Massive centipedes who are able to generate electric shocks compared to lightning bolts. Their horns can also be used as stunning bolts for any ranged weaponry.
  • Love Doves: A majestic dove couple, they mate for life and massacre all living things in their way, everything they do, they do together. When they catch prey, they generate a sticky mucus-like substance to entrap them and allow them to marinate in fear.
  • Herons: Essentially the "dragons" of Amphibia, Herons are murderous predators who love the taste of flesh, they're able to fly and usually travel in pairs, and are strong enough to smash through stone castle walls. The Flying Newtopian Castle is able to shoot mind controlled Heron eggs out of a bottom cannon.
  • Giant Millipedes: Big millipedes, can burrow underground and destroy large schoolhouses. IRL millipedes get really big, but this is just ridiculous.
  • Giant Snow Weasel: Lives in an icy cave to feast on frozen Wartwood citizens every winter, with sharp teeth, extraordinary length and the ability to climb up walls, your only hope of escaping is probably an omelette bribe.
  • Moss Man: Usually considered as cryptids, Moss Men can help plant life grow, even able to instantly fill a person with growing plants to bisect them (gnarly). Held captive to study medicinal tech, if they give you a flower, it's considered a friendship offering. Thought they can be hard to keep track of due to their ability to disappear within the mist.
  • Giant Crab: Do NOT stop to smell the roses, this crab is comparable to a small miniature island in size, and would probably taste delicious if cooked up.
  • Scorpaleo: A creepy scorpion lion fusion, now that's one messed up horoscope.
  • Barbari-Ants: "It's a species of ant surely it isn't also massive" WRONG!!! These species of ants swarm every 10 years, with bone crushing mandibles, thick armour and bioluminescent horns, these ants can turn entire towns into anthills. Tunnelling underground, and all following the Ant Queen, who is mostly blind but can hear exceptionally well.
  • Shadow Fish: Intangible ghost-like beings that swim through the air, able to dissolve all living matter within them. Usually kept within the inner walls of the Newtopian Castle, kept in their place through mirrors due to the reflection of their own light causing them to become tangible.
  • Chickilisk: An extremely large chicken who mostly eats gold and does not attack unless provoked first. This deity is able to be summoned to any location via an ancient magic ritual, requiring the horn of a Sky Goat for an arcane note that pierces the air, then some Cursed Obsidian to amplify the dark energy. It's able to breathe fire, seemingly summon small meteors, create miniature tornados, generate shockwaves, heal itself, create storms, part clouds, and shoot beams out of its eye that instantly petrifies foes, and can teleport away when it chooses to. It also has its own ancient language older than written history (which The Core likely knows).
  • Narwhal Worm: A, you guessed it, massive worm + narwhal. Also covered in natural armour dense enough to get Barrel's Warhammer stuck in it for thousands of years.
  • Giant Hornets: A toad delicacy, equipped with stingers that induce temporary paralysis and hard armour only their own stingers can pierce, also taste amazing when dipped in chocolate.
  • Giant Cobras: OK so like imagine a cobra, but really big and with armour.
  • Rhino Beetle: Get this, it's a beetle... but also a rhino... hell yeah...

Final Gambit Defences

Out of fear of being destroyed, The Core filled the moon with large mechanical crustaceans as a pet project and any defences to anything somehow threatening the moon. We don't get to see much of them because of how the Calamity Trio with their full Calamity Powers end up no-diffing all of them, but they are rather large, mechanical, and able to fly through space.

Weaknesses

Belos

Ultimately, Belos' biggest weakness which eventually led to his downfall, is his arrogance. He believes himself to be so just and is so full of himself, he passed multiple opportunities to kill Luz which culminated in her defeating him. This is best shown with Luz being able to appeal to his "human" side to trick him into joining a Coven for the Draining Spell.

While his ability to possess people is no doubt powerful, it can be resisted by those with enough willpower, and has been broken through multiple times, not just by Hunter, but by Raine too. This might be due to how mindscapes work in The Owl House, where you can fight back against those invading in, thus being overpowered within will let you break free.

Lastly. His Titan form, while massive and mighty, is also vulnerable to more focussed small attacks, where slightly above average characters can fend off attacks from the corruption. Speaking of, after Belos was killed, it completely undid all of his corruption spread throughout the Isles, undoing all of his damage to everyone and everything.

Darcy

Despite the Core's intelligence, it is not perfect. While it is great at manipulation, its tricks did eventually get recognized by both Andrias and Marcy, where they would then rebel against The Core and lead to its downfall. And while Darcy is extremely skilled in combat, they have a massive glaring weakness with the chord attached to their helmet at all times, with it being severed causing them to lose their ability to control Marcy's body, leaving it extremely vulnerable as just a helmet and a crown.

The Core is also majorly overconfident, leaving Sasha and Anne alive just to gloat over them, believing itself to have already won and not recognizing neither of them were the same person they believed them to be. This ties in to The Core's biggest fear, change itself, the world moving on and forgetting about them, which is why they made the Final Gambit in the first place. So anything threatening that ideology would cause The Core to panic.

Scaling

Belos

The Owl House

(Luz is only included in the graphic cause it would be mean to leave her out)

Belos has been consistently referred to as "the most skilled witch that ever lived", specifically stating him to be above Eda, a sentiment which is consistent given his ability to avoid attacks from and restrain her in her Owl Beast form, a form which is above all other residents of the Owl House in terms of power. Lilith Clawthorne is also slightly above Eda regularly, with Lilith fearing Belos and being overpowered and restrained by him (Lilith is not being included in Belos' army due to her leaving before Belos gets a lot of his good stuff, and Hunter takes her place later on so he doesn't really lose anything lol).

This would also include Luz's Palisman, Stringbean, which is also consistent given Below literally eats Palismen for breakfast, though Stringbean scaling can be a bit iffy, at least for the rest of the base tiers and Belos' general army. [See Before the Verdict]

The Hexsquad

Belos has directly done battle with the Hexsquad repeatedly, overpowering Luz consistently, and doing battle with all of them at the same time while in Hunter's body. Hunter is at least comparable to the rest of the Hexsquad, with Hunter also holding some amount of fear of his supposed "uncle" due to him being so much more powerful.

Miscellaneous Witches/Demons

Belos is stated to be the most skilled witch in history, so he should very much upscale any showings of random Witches/Demons.

Luzan (+ The Collector and The Titan)

After learning about the Titan still being somewhat alive, Belos would take over the Titan's body and drain its power. He would then almost kill The Collector, consistent with how Titans were stated by the Collector to be more powerful than anybody (which would include the Collector themselves), and how Titans are consistently referred to as gods and treated as such. He was also able to resist Luzan (Luz with the remaining power of the Titan) attempting to pull him out of the Titan's heart for a while, though all of these points of scaling are somewhat controversial. [See Before the Verdict]

Darcy

The Plantars

(Anne is only included in the graphic cause it would be mean to leave her out)

The Plantars, while very tough, are at their core just average frog farmers. Given how Darcy has been able to compare to characters far above them, they should upscale from any feats they can do.

The Calamity Trio

Darcy has directly been able to contend equally with both Sasha and Grime at the same time, with Sasha being the hero of the Strength Calamity Gem (physically the strongest of the base Calamity Trio), and has been able to fight equally with Anne. Darcy is also controlling the body of Marcy, so she's at least directly comparable to her as well.

Miscellaneous Amphibians

After announcing their monarchy, the people of Amphibia attempted to rebel against The Core, forming an army of their own to try and stop their plans. Andrias was able to hold them off for an extended period of time, where there were also several Frobot forces aiding him in holding them back. Darcy has also directly kept up with Sasha and Grime in battle, who is the one who trained the armies and is superior to all of them.

Calamity Gems

Andrias in his Dyoplosaurus Armour was able to come to blows with Incomplete Calamity Anne, with Darcy's armour being just as advanced as the armour, making them downscaling some of Anne's feats possible, if fairly dubious [See Before the Verdict].

They're also capable of using the power of the Calamity Gems to shoot a large cannon from the top of the Newtopian Castle, which should be able to reach the same levels of power as the Calamity Trio at their absolute peaks.

Belos

Lightspeed / Light Timing Owl House??

The Owl House's speed is a semi-controversial topic, it having arguments for being either in the FTL ranges or not even breaching Mach 1000. This is mainly due to the specifics on the Light Glyph and how it's used at times. These feats will be addressed here.

Eda/Lilith's fight blasts:
For this feat, it's a relatively short explanation. Neither Eda nor Lilith's blasts show any properties of light or lightning, thus they reasonably cannot be assumed to be as fast. Through the fight, they do move as lightning bolts, though this doesn't say anything for the blasts they produce.

Light Glyph shenanigans:
This feat on the other hand, does have much more going for it. Here, Lilith directly reacts to and blocks an attack from Luz using a beam generated from two Light Glyphs. We can tell these are indeed Light Glyphs given the colour, and we know it couldn't be a combination of two basic Glyphs as that was something Luz learned much later, along with that type of Glyph Combination inherently not working. While there are some things you can nitpick, the feat itself is fine to use.

However, there are other Light Glyph speed feat arguments which are more contentious, mainly them being characters reacting to outward expansions of the Light Glyph. The issue here being these are much more likely to simply be animation quirks, and sometimes not even intended to be feats in general. Notably Eda has 2 feats within her forms where she blocks outward expanding light. These being The Owl Beast in S1:E4 "The Intruder", and Harpy Eda in S2:E19 "O Titan, Where Art Thou". These instances can technically be argued for, but won't be used as the main speed argument.

Hexes Hold'em scaling???:
Lastly is a newer calc, where in S2:E13 "Any Sport in a Storm", we can see a Hexes Hold'em card spinning in tandem with a beam generated by another card. We see this beam next to flames with it being visually different, and burns the first card on contact. This is enough to assume lightspeed without too much contention, though still not absolutely 100% solid by itself. Also obviously everyone should scale as it wouldn't make sense for everyone to be massively slower than a literal playing card.

Collector Scaling??

Ah, Collector scaling discussions, the bane of every TOH scaler's existence whether or not you agree with it. The premise here relies on how the Titans are seen within the Owl House universe, being consistently compared to gods, and the Archivists actively fearing their power enough to abandon their own goals to exterminate them. While this may seem blatant at first, there have been many counter-arguments over the years which should be addressed first before getting into further evidence.

"The Collector is a child, thus their word on Titans being 'more powerful than anyone' is unreliable."
First point to get out of the way, this mostly ignores the purpose The Collector serves for a majority of the story, that being a powerful source of information. The Collector is how Belos discovered every Glyph. And The Collector is how Belos discovered the Draining Spell. The Collector is easily the most knowledgeable on the Isles and within the Owl House universe, so his information should be mostly reliable. Even ignoring all of that, the information The Collector has on Titans would at least have to have been gotten from somewhere, with the only possible source of that information being the Archivists.

"Archivists are actively weak to Titan Magic, which means they wouldn't need to be comparable in power, along with Titans being immune to Collector Magic."
The points here, while technically true, don't really work for a full on debunk. In order for the Titans' magic to threaten the Archivists, it would still need to be somewhat comparable to them in power. Think of a Pokémon battle, if your opponent has a Level 50 Fire Type against your Level 5 Water Type, you're still going to lose whether or not they're weak to your attacks.

Even with Titans supposedly being immune to Collector Magic, they still get affected to it, with the immunity more likely being due to their ability to cancel out Collector Magic, rather than it being completely ineffective. King was affected by The Collector's mind manipulation, though it was negated via a Light Glyph, which use Titan Magic. The Collector goes on to say their magic doesn't affect King due to being a Titan, and given the context of what we see, this most likely isn't referring to just a plain immunity, with even something like The Collector turning King into a puppet still being a danger to King.

This directly goes against the inherent idea that the Archivists would see the Titans as a threat to them, where if they were that much weaker, along with being still affected by their hax, they would have zero issue collecting and preserving them. The idea they would completely abandon their goal over something as minute as mild pushback would be extremely silly.

"Luzan was only given the power of the Papa Titan long after his own death, so assuming she'd scale is unreasonable."
This one is somewhat reasonable to an extent. While yes, the Papa Titan is dead, he is still very much capable of using his own magic. We directly know him to be responsible for lighting up stars in the sky to show Luz the Light Glyph, which he did WHILE dead. The fact that Belos was draining his power from within the In Between Realm, where physically we see him in his prime, also means he's likely still comparable to his old self, at the very least from what Belos is draining. The fact Luz directly gets her power from the Papa Titan would directly scale her to at least his own feats, with Titans being stated to be more powerful than anybody, which would include full grown Archivists, who should massively be superior to the Collector, making Luz and Belos in these forms massively upscale all of the Collector's feats.

Now, with all of that said I believe I made made it clear why most arguments against Collector Scaling don't really work, but to be fully clear with why I believe in this line of scaling, I'll need to get to even more evidence for the scaling

First off, while Belos does seem to nullify some of The Collector's powers, this is likely an amplification of his own abilities rather than just a side effect of Titan Magic, given The Collector is fully aware of Titan's ability to nullify Archivist Magic and was still confused on why his ability wasn't working. The Collector later is seen still capable of using his own powers, which he uses to fly to and hold the Archives to prevent them from falling. Titans exuding their magic and thus nullifying Archivists passively is also contradicted by how we see The Collector still able to use his magic when in proximity of Titan Belos and Luzan, along with just being able to use it on the Isles in general.

Next, we do know that the Archivists completely wiped out the Titans, which would imply them to be superior, right? Well, not really. We do get hints of how exactly they did this, sending The Collector down to "play with" The Titans, which they used as a distraction to isolate each Titan one by one to then take them out slowly. This means that the Archivists were fully aware of the Titan's strength, with them also being aware that had they done a full scale battle without planning, they would easily lose.

The last point I want to bring up is how both Titans and the Collector see the rest of the cast in terms of power/narrative. After Lilith learns about King being a baby Titan, she immediately starts comparing him to a god, with this sentiment being repeated all throughout the series with phrases like "oh my Titan", mimicking "oh my god". This works as an indicator for Titans being above everyone else, due to how not even the Archivists are ever compared in a similar way. And the fact that the Papa Titan sealed away the Collector instead of just killing him doesn't work as evidence one way or the other.

We also see The Collector consistently refer to the main cast as "itty bitty spiders", due to them being so much weaker. If his previous sentiment on Titans being "more powerful than anyone" was said only due to them being able to counter Collector Magic, then this sentiment wouldn't make sense due to how regular Witches/Demons are outright capable of using Titan Magic through the usage of Glyphs or Titan's Blood, which even after seeing Luz use a Glyph, he still compares her to an itty bitty spider, which is massively different to how he talks about Titans.

It is also worth noting that for the most part, scaling regular base tier characters to the Collector in speed is perfectly fine. Harpy Eda was able to evade shooting stars released by The Collector. Luz, Eda and King all keep up with the Collector in his games. And Titan Belos is able to react to The Collector mid-flight, who base tier characters are able to keep up with. The Collector does state that the Hexsquad "look slow" and that they need a head start, though this would only apply to movement speed, which The Collector for the most part is faster than most everyone.

TL;DR: The arguments against Collector Scaling mostly fall flat, with the Titans being comparable to and/or outright superior to the Archivists being the most narratively implied. Along with even base tier characters still being comparable to The Collector in speed.

Would Belos Summon The Collector??

No.

The reason as to why Belos never released The Collector himself was due to how he feared the Collector. The Collector's knowledge and power was vastly greater than his own, and he actively didn't want that information to go out. Even in a setting where he is fighting a character from another universe, it is completely unlikely he'd ever even consider actually letting out the Collector.

Another reason is due to how Belos' plans involve Titan's Blood, even at his best, he has only ever had a few drops of it, which is not enough to both fuel a portal and free The Collector. Due to how selfish and scheming Belos is, there is no way that in-character he would prioritise freeing The Collector over his own plans. Even as Titan Belos, he likely wouldn't even care about releasing The Collector.

I know this might be a big "duh" for most people, but I felt I should include a reason as to why The Collector's full capabilities will not be accounted for in the verdict, just in case anybody was curious as to why.

Miscellaneous Owl House Feats

General creation feats via Magic:
Using their magic or through Glyphs, Witches are capable of creating constructs which when calculated can reach decently high. A majority of the time, creation feats like this aren't too valid, as they're unspecified in if anyone can even scale to them. Fortunately, we are given a method as to how Witches generate magic.

Essentially, within their hearts, Witches have a large Bile Sac with different Spell Phlegm liquids sloshing around together. When a Witch chooses to cast a spell, that liquid is then generated into whatever they wish to do, as everything has to come from something. This means that given Witches use the same energy to generate attacks on each other, and how the Spell Phlegm liquid is generated throughout their body and would pass through to create a spell, they would all scale 100% to their own feats via Magic (This also applies to any Glyphs Luz creates, given how they really only keep her somewhat on par with what regular Witches can do).

Green Thumb Gauntlet:
This one is decently simple, the only reason the calculation gets to megatons is due to an art quirk of a zoomed out shot of the Titan's Skull with some trees on it. Obviously the trees themselves aren't intended to be that large, them only being that large due to how you can see them at all. Thus the feat isn't fully valid (lower ends using actual tree sizes are fine).

King blows up the Titan's finger:
In S2:E17 "Edge of the World", King has a feat of destroying the finger of a Titan, shattering it and causing it to explode and part clouds. For the most part, the feat is extremely direct. King screams at the finger and it explodes, though some people have had issues with it.

The first one, the other showings of cloud parting from the Finger aren't shown affecting Luz and King, which is technically true, only due to us not actually seeing them immediately after being hit with the shockwave. When it reaches Salty's ship, it knocks it around a decent amount, and the clouds surrounding the finger are all parted. Luz and King are directly in the epicentre, so they would scale no problem.

The next one (and the big one) of King destroying the finger itself, is also fairly simple to explain. King directly screams at the finger and it explodes. The finger does contain some magical energy within it, however this would also have to scale to the durability of the finger itself due to how Magic in The Owl House inherently needs to be generated, which we even see directly flowing through the finger itself. So in order for King to destroy the finger, whether or not the explosion was generated by him, would need to overcome the durability of the finger itself.

There is also the fact that the finger isn't really shown to be using much magical energy when it explodes, which does in fact have a visual which appears whenever the finger transports people, though this is mostly unneeded as an argument.

The Collector's galaxy bedroom:
A somewhat notorious feat for The Collector. He was able to create the Archives, which inside, contains a bedroom stated to be the size of a galaxy. The room itself from what we see contains a really small planet, which could possibly imply the galaxy would be a similarly small size, though the statement only specifies the size of a galaxy, which would mean it doesn't necessarily need to have everything within be the same size.

We know the Collector likely created the Archives themselves, with it also being more likely that the galaxy bedroom is a part of the Archives and not just a pocket dimension given Belos was able to enter them and The Collector wasn't able to just escape to said dimension while trapped. The fact this would be massively higher than any other feat is also irrelevant due to the Collector's only other showings being extremely casual. Where the Titans would still upscale this due to being massively superior to the Archivists who should be above the Collector.

This is still a fairly dubious argument, but I personally do find it to be somewhat usable as a high end, and thus will be accounted for.

Darcy

Lightspeed / Laser Timing Amphibia??

Amphibia has a sizeable amount of laser dodging feats, which from time to time have been used to argue lightspeed for its cast. These all come from different sources, notably the Frobots (and variations), the Chickilisk, and the Flipwart Pieces within the First Temple. If you hadn't noticed already when checking the feats section, you may have noticed how all of these feats (with a calculation, not all of them have calcs so it would kinda be irrelevant to specify) were marked as "inapplicable", why exactly is that? To explain, I'll have to get into the feats themselves.

The Chickilisk's laser eyes:
Starting off strong with a fairly easy feat to debunk, the problem with the Chickilisk is that it simply... lacks any reason to assume it's a laser. The only possible evidence for it being light based is Anne's sword being able to reflect it, though this could also just be the beam being sliced through (plus there being an audible sound effect once they clash). Given this beam also petrifies everything on touch, it's also unlikely to be purely light based and likely just a non-specific magical blast, or at the very least too inconsistent or unreliable to be seen as lightspeed.

Frobot (and Cloak-Bot) laser cannons:
For the Frobot's lasers, there have actually been shown within storyboards to be called "Laser Cannons" (technically laser "canon" but that's just a misspelling), which would mean they are actual lasers, right? No.

The term "laser cannon" is inherently contradictory with the idea of being regular lasers. A cannon is a form of artillery specifically designed to shoot heavy projectiles using explosive propellants, with this by itself going against the typical idea of a laser. These lasers are also shown to explode, actively shatter glass when being shot at it, and when the barrel is covered by mud shot from Sprig, they explode due to the projectile inherently having mass.

Not only that, but the show creator Matt Braly himself has gone on record to say that if the lasers within Amphibia were actual lightspeed lasers, they would be almost immediate, where they were intentionally slowed down for the sake of animation rather than the characters being that fast. They're intended to be really fast, but not "the speed of light" fast. The more likely intention is for them to be as fast as at least bullets or cannon projectiles.

Flipwart pieces lasers:
Now for probably the main argument for laser timing in Amphibia. During S2:E14 "The First Temple," we see multiple Flipwart pieces shooting lasers, which Sprig, Marcy and Polly can all react to and dodge. Within Marcy's Journal, these are also described by Marcy as "REAL LASERS!! EPIC!!" which counts as a statement calling them lasers. Would this mean that they are all real lightspeed lasers? Once again, no.

The term "real lasers" for the most part only exists in a power scaling context. Lasers are light which is amplified by stimulated emission of radiation (I.E. a L.A.S.E.R.), with there not being much of a need for the term "real laser" as anything which amplifies light via electromagnetic waves is automatically a laser. With both light and electromagnetic waves being massless and unable to cause any amount of impact.

This is relevant, as throughout the episode, the lasers are constantly seen making explosions and having impact, both of which are immediate disqualifiers for being lightspeed lasers. The term "real laser" doesn't apply here as in fiction, lasers a majority of the time are just referring to general beams without any qualities of real lasers, so Marcy recognising them as "lasers" doesn't inherently prove anything over disqualifying properties, especially since she never actually inspects them to learn anything about the lasers. Marcy is also prone to exaggeration, and in the same episode where the statement takes place, claims a puzzle has "like a zillion permutations," which means while she is generally reliable, she isn't a good source to always take literally.

Now, there are technically more lasers which are fine to call real "lightspeed lasers," the Calamity Gems after completing the temples do emit lasers (described as lasers by Marcy after inspection), which move in straight lines, burn Hop Pop's eye, and follow all the laser rules. And Frobo after being minorly upgraded by Polly does use a laser to cut a floor using heat, however with these, the issue is nobody can actually scale to them as there is neither any tandem, nor any reaction (along with it being inconsistent with other lasers which are frame 1). Thus meaning Amphibia essentially has zero legit laser feats.

Upscaling the Frobots??

In her Incomplete Calamity form, Anne draws partial amounts of power from the Calamity Gems, which are by far the strongest power source within Amphibia. She was also able to do battle with Andrias in his Dyoplosaurus Armour, which took years to complete and is likely the strongest out of all of his and The Core's troops. So would this all make it possible for Anne to upscale the self destruction of the Cloak-Bot?

Sadly, this line of scaling for the most part is completely baseless. While Anne is powered by the Calamity Gems, she isn't fully powered by them and it shows. The fact that the Dyoplosaurus Armour at all was able to match Anne is already proof enough that artificial power is capable of matching Incomplete Calamity power. Anne was nowhere near the Cloak-Bot when it exploded, meaning she has zero direct scaling chains towards it, and thus we cannot blindly assume she would be able to survive it.

What about the Dyoplosaurus then? surely it, and by extension Anne should be superior to the self destruction of a random Cloak-Bot, right? Well, similarly, Andrias completely lacks any scaling chain for the Cloak-Bot. Comparing the power of someone in a battle mech suit and the power of a last resort self destruction is similarly, completely baseless. They serve different functions and aren't comparable in what they do, so there's also once again not much of a reason to assume Andrias would scale in his Dyoplosaurus Armour.

As a sentiment, having Incomplete Calamity Anne isn't completely wrong. For the physical output of a majority of characters, and the more casual showings of firepower, having Anne upscale all of these makes sense. But a lot of the times, the assumption can be extremely contradictory. Like the argument for Incomplete Calamity Anne upscaling the Newtopian Castle Cannon blowing up Mt. Lee, which was done by using the power of all three Calamity Gems, and thus physically cannot be scaled to Incomplete Calamity Anne.

Calamity Scaling??

Ok ok I know the premise might sound iffy at first, but surprisingly there is a decent amount of evidence to suggest Darcy could be somewhat comparable to Incomplete Calamity Anne.

Alright, so first off, as established earlier, Incomplete Calamity Anne isn't completely invincible within her own tier. Andrias with his Dyoplosaurus Armour was capable of matching her blow for blow, to the point he likely would've won a drawn out fight had he not given up. This is relevant due to the similarities between the Dyoplosaurus Armour and Darcy's own suit. Both are sleek, black suits with design elements from axolotls with streaks of orange all over them, with Darcy's helmet mainly being reminiscent of devil horns along with its axolotl theme.

The reason why their designs are relevant is due to how both of the suits are similarly advanced, both were built upon for thousands of years, with it being likely that The Core would want a perfect suit of armour for its host. Along with that, given how Darcy is connected to the Newtopian Castle via a wire in its helmet, and how the Castle is powered by the three Calamity Gems, it would also be possibly to argue this means Darcy would be somewhat comparable to some amount of energy they can create.

Despite all that, there are some hiccups in the scaling, Darcy does have a fight with both Sasha and Grime, though it should be noted that despite being some of the peak from base tier Amphibia characters, Darcy was able to handle both of them at the same time with ease, only being hit twice while off guard, and both times not being damage to Darcy's main body. The Dyoplosaurus Armour is also much larger than Darcy themselves, though that would still let Darcy downscale a significant amount thanks to their armours still being somewhat comparable.

This maybe just be somewhat irrelevant as an argument however, as the Core's Helmet (which the rest of Darcy's body should be comparable to) has a feat of flying to the moon which reaches 36 Kilotons of TNT, only 4 Kilotons off of Incomplete Calamity Anne's feat of kicking the Cloak-Bot into the stratosphere worth 40 Kilotons of TNT. So ultimately it just comes down to interpretation, but either way doesn't change much.

Miscellaneous Amphibia Feats

Hop Pop's light beam reflecting:
This feat for the most part has been talked about a ton in previous discussions, so the explanation won't be as thorough as other dissections. Essentially, this feat happens at the end of a montage that shows Anne and the Plantars attempting and failing to escape the Archives. There is no serious tandem, and is not even intended to be taken seriously, thus this feat is inapplicable for serious scaling.

Marcy and Chuck rebuilding houses:
These feats are both... really weird. For starters, Marcy's version of the feat happens with her just smacking rubble with a hammer like she's Fix-It Felix, with Chuck's feat being similar. Both just... have materials spawn out of nowhere. This also isn't going into how both of them aren't actually building the entire house, but rather rebuilding them from pre-existing rubble. And how the timeframes for both of the references isn't accounting for transportation of materials. So sadly both of these feats are invalid.

The Core Helmet's flight:
You might've noticed this feat in Darcy's speed section being way lower than previous blogs have placed it, this is due to a flaw within the calculation itself, that being the fact that there is a noticeable time jump between shots of the Helmet flying to and reaching the moon. The beginning of S3:E18 "The Hardest Thing" shows a clip from S3:E17 "All In" (specifically 46:10), with the point that we see The Core take over the moon being at 0:30, with the clip afterwards in "All In" happening at 46:44. Piecing together each clip and accounting for specifics to find the exact timeframe causes it to be much longer than previous calculations (specifically 26 seconds compared to a range of 6 to 7 seconds).

Calamity Portal creation:
In S3:E10 "Escape to Amphibia", we see Terri attempt to power a portal to Amphibia, with them later claiming they need 50,000 Kilowatts of power generators to do so. Eventually after acquiring twice the power they estimated, and according to Anne "increased it exponentially", it still barely affected the portal's size. Later, Anne using her Calamity powers is able to power the portal large enough to fit herself and the Plantars.

This line of scaling sadly has a couple holes. For starters, the claim of it being "increased exponentially" is mostly exaggeration on Anne's part. We see Terri powering the portal, where they very clearly don't add any amount of power afterwards. Anne's statement within Marcy's Journal is also mostly just referring to them having acquired 100,000 Kilowatts at all, which isn't actually an exponential increase. This alone would push the feat down to at most being 1.02 Tons of TNT.

The larger issue however is how Anne doesn't actually use direct Watts to power the portal. Repeatedly in Marcy's Journal we're told about "Calamity Energy", being an interdimensional energy which is tapped into to create portals. This form of energy doesn't have any direct equivalent we can compare to, so it wouldn't be able to scale anywhere, meaning the feat for both ends is invalid.

Both

What Is Even Standard??

Both Belos and The Core have "final forms" which require the existence of specific landlocked objects which are exclusive to their respective universes (The Titan's Heart for Titan Belos and Amphibia's terraformed moon for the Final Gambit). Against most other opponents, this could just be solved by having the fight take place on these specific locations, though it gets more complicated here for obvious reasons.

Despite this, both will still be given their full capabilities. Both of these forms are iconic to each character, and not giving them would be extremely disappointing. You can possibly justify it by The Core being able to somehow transport the moon via a large portal? though the more direct answer is just that they're both equally non-standard, thus giving them to both is fine enough. Plus, it's unlikely to actually affect the verdict as you will see.
The sheer aura with the Boiling Isles catching the falling moon alone is enough to justify it.

Island Level Base Tiers??

Both The Owl House and Amphibia do have some gigaton calculations which have been used to argue island level for its base tiers, mainly the Teleportation Glyph making a large beam (3 Gigatons), Luz and Amity screaming and shaking Bonesborough (5.14 Gigatons each), and a bunch of heavily damaged Frobots being able to make a large fire construct to push back the moon (112.8 Gigatons each). All of these feats do have some issues however, which will be gotten into now.

Starting off with the Frobot fire feat, not only due to how it's the highest scaling feat here, but also the ones with the most issues. The first being the amount of Frobots used for the fire generated. The actual amount of Frobots helping with the feat is unstated, the only reasoning for that number being used is due to how many we can count at once, which doesn't account for any Frobots that are out of view or less visible. This is also a feat that actively has weakened base tier characters aiding the Calamity Trio with the full power of the Calamity Gems, a feat which would make no sense for them to be on par with, even with 30 Frobots helping.

The second big issue with the feat is the size of the fire itself, the calculation says that the fire generated is 176 km long thanks to a zoomed out shot of the Calamity Trio and Frobots pushing the moon back. However, after this shot, a literal single frame later, we get a closer view shot of the Trio and some nearby Frobots, where we can see the fire generated is not nearly as big. The length of the fire itself already clearly pushing it, that much fire would already be able to pass the Kármán line nearly twice over, where we see Frobots specifically designed to shoot flames don't reach nearly as far.

The intent of the zoomed out shots is moreso to show the progress The Calamity Trio are making for pushing the moon back, and something like the Frobots making a nearly 200 km long fire is very clearly done just so you can actually see them. This kind of thing is actually very common in Amphibia, where Andrias is stated to be 30ft tall, but in some scenes he's only around 3x the size of Marcy. Even in the finale itself we have a shot of Anne being visible directly next to the entire moon, where with the same logic as before she would need to be nearly 150 km tall, which we just know is blatantly untrue. And yes, while they did take more care into accounting for the sizes of everyone in Season 3, this doesn't inherently fix any of the issues we can still observe.

The next feat to talk about is the Lumity Scream, while the feat itself is fine, they do in fact scream and shake the Boiling Isles, the issue here is it's pretty clearly just not intended to be a feat at all, and is mostly just a gag not meant to be taken seriously. Compare this to The Owl House's other higher scaling feats, which all have some amount of narrative importance and backing. While this may not be a statistical outlier given it is technically within a close range of other feats, that isn't enough to say it's wholly applicable.

Lastly we have the Teleportation Glyph, which does have similar issues as the Frobot fire, that being the calculation argues the beam generated is much larger than what should be ordinarily be reasonable due to comparing it to background elements. However, with this feat in particular it technically isn't really as much of an issue? Considering the beam being as big in the calculation doesn't really change anything, and how we do see in another usage of the Teleportation Glyph that the beam does extend a decent amount outside of the Glyph itself (along with the Glyph in the calculation being a decent amount larger than the first usage, which might explain the size discrepancy, as Glyphs are increased in power with the size of the Glyph drawn).

Other than that, technically every other assumption in the calculation is fine or serviceable to an extent, though even with all this the main assumption of a 3 km wide beam is still outlandish enough such that placing judgement on the feat and choosing not to use it is a perfectly reasonable response, so at absolute best it can be used as a dubious high end, especially considering it's only really an upgrade when using the higher end of the calculation.

WHAT is UP With Stringbean & Frobo??

Stringbean and Frobo are like... weird as hell in terms of scaling...

Alright so, both Stringbean and Frobo have the best feats in terms of base tier characters for both series (minus the King scream feat talked about earlier), which can technically be scaled directly to other Palismen/Frobots on the basis of them being the same species, however. There is a decent amount differentiating Stringbean and Frobo from regular Palismen/Frobots.

Starting with Stringbean, there's some evidence for her being unique compared to other Palismen. For starters, she's the only one which was hatched from an egg, and is the only one we see able to shapeshift. These are fairly superficial, but it does count as some reason to believe she has some capabilities above regular Palismen. Her being hatched also created a large explosion, where she then afterwards makes a large laser blast that vaporizes a chunk of a forest.

Going for arguments for other Palismen being comparable, stuff like laser blasts aren't too uncommon for Palismen to do, them being the most common attacks used by both Lilith and Eda (which albeit they look different, though this is likely due to them being more controlled). When the rest of the Hexsquad see Luz with Stringbean immediately after she vaporizes a chunk of forest in front of them, they aren't in awe at how strong Luz's Palisman is, moreso just nervous about the idea of Luz having a Palisman, which from after that point Stringbean is never really implied to be above other Palismen, with other traits like hatching from an egg and being a Snakeshifter not really being enough to justify her being hundreds of times stronger.

So then, what about Frobo? Well, unlike Stringbean, Frobo is consistently portrayed as far more physically capable than the rest of the base cast. In S2:E15b "Friend or Frobo?", Frobo easily defeats both Anne and Sprig without any difficulty. And in S2:E18b "The Third Temple", Frobo is asked to lift up the door to the temple due to him being the strongest (along with everyone being impressed by this). This could be seen as a non-issue, as Frobo should be comparable to other Frobots, right? Well, this is where consistency starts being a major issue.

Frobots are consistently and easily destroyed by the base cast. Hop Pop is seen as extremely physically weak, and yet he is able to completely wreck Frobots in a single punch. This is something that happens throughout the entire series going past this point, which does directly contradict Frobo being stronger than the base cast. There is also a lot differentiating Frobo from regular Frobots, how he's a different model, looks much different to them design-wise, and how regular Frobots are mass-produced compared to Frobot's creation which took tons of time, along with destroying the entire factory afterwards. With Frobo being inserted with "Hop Pop's Road Rules", which impacted Frobo's code and likely design a lot.

There is technically a scaling chain, as Andrias was able to destroy Frobo, with Andrias being threatened by Barrel's Warhammer, which Darcy blocked a hit by with wires, which Sasha then cut through, with Anne consistently being able to clash with Sasha. Though all this does is show how inconsistent this is. Though it's also possible that the idea of scaling to Frobo may be unnecessary.

Frobo's best feat (and the reason characters need to scale to him) is being able to lift Stumpy's Diner far into the sky, with a calculation for this reaching 57.39 Tons of TNT for the initial lift, and 516.7 Tons of TNT for pulling it back down. However, this calculation does have some flaws, mainly in the distances which are assumed. The calculation assumes Frobo lifts Stumpy's into the clouds, though this is mostly baseless as the clouds are purely only seen within the background, with us seeing in actuality Stumpy's is closer to bird-flight heights.

Accounting for this in the calculation, this would knock down the initial lift down to 10.93, Mach 4.66 - 19.43 Tons of TNT, Mach 6.2, though another flaw in the calculation is assuming the pull down has a timeframe of 1 second, which accounting for the real timeframe (1/4 of a second), even with the distance nerf, would buff the feat to 1.57 - 2.79 Kilotons, Mach 55.9 - 74.6. Sadly however, these high ends are ultimately not solid. The timeframe itself is more likely due to cinematic timing, where the animators wouldn't want to keep the viewers waiting for another 3 seconds just for Frobo to pull it down.

To support this idea, by the time the next clip of Frobo with the Diner appears, the Diner is already on screen without any sign of movement in the previous clip. Along with all of that, Frobo even if the pull timeframe was legit would be aided by gravity also pulling down the Diner, and thus likely wouldn't even scale himself.

So in conclusion, while Stringbean scaling is mostly legit, Frobo being on par with the main cast is extremely inconsistent, though scaling him to the base tiers is irrelevant as his own feat that would require scaling to is not very solid and below feats the base cast already scale to.

Can Base Tiers Stop The Moon??

Both The Owl House and Amphibia weirdly enough share feats of base tier characters stopping the moon in place. Owl House with the Day of Unity and Amphibia with the destroyed Frobots helping stop the Final Gambit. Both of these feats get massively higher than where both series scale consistently, so both will need to be talked about.

For the Frobots' feat, it's very clearly just an outlier, both narratively and numerically. It makes zero sense for any amount of Frobots to be able to match all three boosted Calamity Gems in power, especially while massively damaged. And it is also over a sextillion times stronger than the next best reasonable scaling for the Frobots.

For the Draining Spell, it does get a bit more complicated. We know the Draining Spell channels its power through 9 powerful Witches, and regardless of if the spell stops the moon or the eclipse channels through the Witches, that would still be the power of the moon being stopped channelled through everyone in the Isles.

The lower end assuming everyone gets drained equally can be chalked up to being an outlier, however the higher end weirdly enough does have more backing behind it, as it uses the 9 most powerful Witches + Belos, who are implied to be much stronger and more capable than everyone else. All that being said it is still massively higher than everything else and is fine to be gone against, especially since this was intended to be used to kill everyone on the Isles with a Sigil.

So with all that being said, the Frobot moon stopping feat is solidly an outlier as it makes no sense narratively and in terms of power compared to every other feat in Amphibia, though the Draining Spell is more vague and has more room for interpretation. It still shouldn't be relied on, but it can technically be used as an extreme high end if needed.

Universal+ - 5D OwlPhibia??

Literally nobody has ever argued for these why did I include them???
… OK fine I'll actually talk about them just in case lol.

Alright so for the Universal+ arguments, it's using Titan's Blood "piercing through realms" and The Calamity Gems "bursting through space-time" as direct feats of power. Both of these statements are implied to be through power, which might aid this interpretation. The problem is it's literally just an exaggeration for both. Neither have any evidence for affecting all of space-time, and in both cases it's very clearly just being used for portal creation, which is it's own thing which can be (and clearly, is) described in the same way.

5D is similar in the sense that both series have a similar argument, with that argument having a large fundamental flaw. While the In Between Realm and Three Gem Guardian are actually possibly 5D just from meeting the standards for higher dimensions (Between Realm being a realm in between dimensions and Dreamino being above all time and space), the issue here becomes... nobody has a way to scale to them. Papa Titan doesn't scale to the entire Between Realm, and the Calamity Gems having "limitless power" is more likely an exaggeration given they struggled against the moon instead of just atomizing it after grazing it, meaning they clearly do not have literally infinite power (especially since they're explicitly said to not have much power remaining within them by the time the Calamity Trio get to use them).

So yeah these arguments are really bad, good thing nobody was arguing this (I included it because I was bored).

Verdict

Stats

Starting with stats, both can compare to feats of dodging crossbow bolts, with Belos comparing to Luz moving at 331 m/s, and Darcy comparing to Sadie Croaker reacting at 212 m/s. Already starting off with Belos having an edge, Belos should also be superior to Hunter, who was able to fly at speeds over Mach 58, and should also be massively above characters like Piniet and Edalyn, who can reach speeds of Mach 401 and Mach 678, which already puts him decently higher than Darcy being able to have a prolonged battle with both Sasha and Grime, who can outrun homing missiles (Mach 20.4). Scaling to their own Frobots, who can fly to the moon after it has been brought down (Mach 193.6). And being superior to Anne, who can dig a large amount of dirt (Mach 203.8).

At their best however, Belos can compare to feats of reacting to Light Glyph beams (1.005c) and moving in tandem with lasers (1.177c), along with likely being comparable to the Collector in reactionary speed, whose ability to visit the stars and return to the Isles would give them reaction speeds of at least 2.12c all the way up to 8159c. This is enough to completely blow Darcy out of the water, with their best possible speed coming from Incomplete Calamity Anne kicking a Cloak-Bot into space (Mach 2071). Or The Core's own feat of flying to the moon (0.049c). This would give Belos a speed advantage of at least 20.5x, with a possibility of it even being up to 166510.2x.

For their power, it doesn't get any better. Lower ends of power for Belos can have him compare to Hooty's tantrum (27.8 Tons). Creation feats involving both Glyphs and Magic (37.5 - 108.9 Tons). Or feats like Luz surviving her own Fire Glyph (789 Tons), Edalyn surviving an explosion (383.26 Kilotons), or even Stringbean's awakening (4 Megatons). Comparing this to Darcy, who can clash with Sasha, with her sword being able to shatter large golems (9.6 Tons). Being massively above Polly, who can create a large electrical explosion (28.9 Tons). Or potentially upscaling Frobo, who has his own fairly iffy feat of pulling down Stumpy's Diner (1.57 - 2.79 Kilotons).

This, once again, puts Belos massively above Darcy, and like before, accounting for their best feats makes it further in Belos' direction. Belos can compare to King' who was able to destroy the Titan's finger with a scream (77.6 Kilotons - 969 Megatons), and has an EXTREMELY iffy feat of surviving the Draining Spell, which could place him at 14 Teratons - 908 Petatons. Comparing this to Darcy, who at most has their own feat of flying to the moon with 36.6 Kilotons worth of Kinetic Energy, or scaling to Anne's Incomplete Calamity form for a slight buff to 40.25 Kilotons. In a direct fight, Darcy would be massively outmuscled.

Now, Darcy does at least have the Castle Cannon, which would scale to 366.4 Megatons from blowing up Mt. Lee. And could likely scale to the full power of each Calamity gem, which can more casually create large explosions in space seen from ground level (9.6 Teratons - 146 Exatons), and the Calamity Trio being able to use them to catch the moon (2.63 Yottatons). Along with the Cloak-Bot self destruction being able to part clouds (146 Megatons - 3.25 Gigatons). Though Belos could potentially compare to the Cloak-Bot's self destruction if you buy the Teleportation Glyph's high end (3 Gigatons), he has no direct way of being comparable to the Castle Cannon.

Though even with all of that, the Castle Cannon are very specific large scale options Darcy would not likely rely on in a low scale battle, so while they are likely stronger with very specific weapons, Belos overall takes a large advantage in statistics.

Capabilities

Despite Belos' massive physical strength advantage, Darcy does actually have ways of harming him. Belos has very consistently been taken out by high temperatures, the most relevant showing being when he was straight up melted by the Boiling Rain. The fact that Darcy's scythe and dagger are both actively flaming would mean Darcy is absolutely able to inflict serious damage upon him. This is also a sentiment that applies for speed as well, as despite Belos being much faster, Darcy has used their smoke and illusions to disorient foes before, and while Belos could theoretically keep up using clairvoyance, he's still not above being tricked or being taken off guard.

Now, both do have some other abilities that need some mentioning, like Belos' ability to manipulate minds. Theoretically he could use this to put Marcy back in control over Darcy's body, though The Core could likely counter via pulling Marcy back out of control. It's evident that some members of the Core's collective mind can seize control when needed, and their control over their own mindscape could likely let them simply trap Marcy once again after being taken out. Things similar to this have happened before to the Owl Beast, so it's not unlikely to assume that Darcy's control over their own mind would let them immediately counter. Belos could also theoretically use the Body Swap spell for a similar effect, which has worked on beings with multiple minds in a single body before (like a Cerberus). though The Core being mostly mechanical, and isolated would make this extremely tricky to even pull off. Even then, The Core still has consciousness within the Crown Andrias wears on his head.

Belos could possibly use Telekinesis to restrain Darcy. However, Darcy in return could use their wires to restrain Belos. Considering even the lowest end of Frobo's lift of Stumpy's would be equivalent to 5,828,247.09 kg (force = mass * acceleration, so 35734.44kg * 1600m/s = 57,175,104 Newtons). This is actually greater than Belos' best possible lifting strength feat of Hunter creating a giant arm made of water (172,854.875 kg), meaning Darcy would actually be MORE capable of restraining Belos rather than vice versa. Of course it would still be difficult for Darcy to escape Belos' grasp, but it would likely be even harder for Belos to escape given Willow was also able to restrain him for a time using her vines in a similar way to Darcy.

Belos could attempt to petrify Darcy, however they should have access to Magic Antidotes, which can instantly cure petrification. Belos could summon a giant worm Demon, but Darcy could just call a ton of Frobots to her location, or even just summon the Chickilisk, which also has better instances of petrification than Belos (along with being able to summon weather phenomena, which is bad for Belos for obvious reasons). Belos could attempt to put Darcy to sleep, but The Core has verbatim been referred to as an "unnatural thing that never sleeps." Darcy's ability to read Belos' past is also extremely useful here, being able to clue them in on what he can do and how to counteract him. Though Belos still has versatile options of his own like sealing or forcefield creation.

While both do certainly have big one-ups over the other, they generally tie in most areas they default to, and their more specialized forms of attack generally cancel out, meaning their Capabilities are a tie.

Strategy

Both Belos and Darcy have been alive and planning for centuries, but while Belos has only been scheming for around 409 years (arrived in 1613, was killed in 2022), The Core has been conquering entire worlds for somewhere around 10,000 years. Belos himself also explicitly needed aid from The Collector to take over the Boiling Isles, compared to The Core having hundreds of leaders who lead the charge into entire alternate realities to conquer worlds for their resources.

Comparing their ability to manipulate others, Belos is certainly no slouch, having tricked multiple people into aiding his perdition over the years, even tricking Luz into helping him multiple times, as well as The Collector. Darcy on the other is capable of looking into your past specifically to create illusions to manipulate and distract you with, alongside being able to manipulate Andrias to further their plans for 1,000 years. While Belos has been able to manipulate others successfully and consistently, they're often shortlived, and don't last too long either other than with The Collector, who even then is fairly naïve. The past showings of Grimwalkers shows this clearly, as each dead Grimwalker acts as a showing of someone eventually catching on and going against Belos' plans.

In terms of actual combat skill, Belos has been labelled as the most skilled witch to ever live, though we never truly see him in combat too much. He is consistently able to handle large group fights all by himself, and take on Luz, who herself is extremely quick to learn and adapt to new skills. Compare this to Darcy however, who was able to absolutely style on both Sasha and Grime at the same time. Sasha being a warrior who had trained for months with an entire army, where even without any proper training was able to take on a large Heron a hundred times her size, and clash evenly with Anne, who ALSO without any formal training, was able to beat the frog version of Michael Jordan in a bugball match while literally BLINDFOLDED. While the Hexsquad are no slouches, they can't really compare to the frankly absurd skill feats some Amphibia characters have shown.

What this also isn't mentioning is how The Core is straight up formed of Amphibia's greatest minds throughout history, with Amphibians far in the past being able to create extremely advanced pieces of tech. This should also bring up Marcy Wu, who Darcy inherited the traits of. With Marcy having some insane feats of intelligence, succeeding in a mission she was specifically designed to fail, shooting a precise weak point on a floating airship, or shooting a stalactite while falling from the mouth of a giant Ant Queen.

So despite them being somewhat comparable in their manipulation tactics, the fact that The Core has so many minds, all much smarter than Belos, means that Darcy takes a massive lead in their strategies.

Attrition

Ultimately the fight comes down to who is more likely to win a drawn out battle. Belos could possibly win a direct confrontation, but choosing to only analyse it through that lens would be ignoring how Darcy is mostly locked within their castle due to being directly connected to it. With the castle itself also having a massive shield around it, and being able to camp in the clouds. This severely limits Belos' own options of attack, and while he does have some means of transporting large amounts of troops into the sky thanks to having a lot of airships, they fall under the problem of needing to bypass the large barrier surrounding the castle. This means the only way he actually had to enter the castle would be via Teleportation, which only a few select troops can actually use to travel large distances.

This means that Darcy could safely apply pressure onto Belos without being in much danger themselves, along with easily being able to deal with any few intruders. Something like the Mind Control Collar could actually turn any infiltrators into a positive for Darcy, as that would be a new troop which can actually contend with the level of power Belos' army has. Comparing their troops further, Coven Scouts do hold a large versatility advantage over all of The Core's Frobots, being capable of using any form of magic. Along with Abomaton 2.0s basically just being Frobots but better. Though where they do come up short is in terms of numbers.

Frobots are generated through large factories all throughout Amphibia, with Amphibia being described as an Australia-sized continent, and The Boiling Isles being described as roughly Vermont-sized. This means Darcy has a much larger influence over Belos, with Frobots being able to swarm to locations in short amounts of time, along with having hundreds of factories producing them constantly. Belos already lacks influence outside of certain cities within the Boiling Isles, with Australia being around 308x larger than Vermont, meaning Belos would be extremely unlikely to know about or be able to counteract these factories.

It is worth noting that should Darcy rely too much on Mind Control Collars, it's entirely possible some of Belos' troops like Eberwolf could eventually pick up on what the collars are and their effects, with it being extremely likely that Raine's soundwaves or Terra's mind manipulating tea leaves could undo or reverse the effects of the collars. Raine has been able to nullify similar effects before, and Terra's own tea leaves could also be compared to Apothecary Gary being able to take control over the mind controlled wildlife in a similar way.

However, it's not entirely impossible for Darcy to now just do the same with Belos' army. Their ability to see into your past, and recreate it via illusions is extremely similar to Grom, which the residents of the Isles live in complete fear of. This could also be used to instantly learn about and spread the awareness of Belos' true intentions for the Isles, which even the most loyal of Belos' subjects have turned on him after learning the truth.

So the question is, can Belos outlast Darcy's Frobots long enough to locate each factory and destroy them? Comparing their healing, Belos has much better on-demand healing with Light Glyphs and Healing Magic, though these don't work as well for larger wounds. Meanwhile with the Rejuvenation Tank, Andrias was able to heal Marcy after straight up stabbing her through the chest, though this took a really long time to heal fully. For their best healing outputs, we have the Healing Hat and the Calamity Gems, which are both described as being able to heal any injury and/or disease, likely being able to remove any curses as well. Though this means that neither have a distinct advantage here, as both are decently difficult to apply either way.

Belos is capable of invading minds through multiple means, most notably through possession or a mind entering spell. Belos has been able to take over inanimate objects before like with a puppet version of Raine, and Frobots do seemingly still possess a mind as shown with Frobo directly being stated to have a soul, as he possesses memories. So would Belos' ability to enter minds be able to turn things in his favour?

Well, it would certainly help him last longer, he can already survive as just a pile of goo splattered on a wall, and could likely infect multiple Frobots at a time without them knowing. Though, given the Cloak-Bot's ability to track energy signatures over large distances, it's likely they could still manage to locate and exterminate any possessed Frobots. If Belos managed to jump into Darcy's mind or possess them, that would actually be really bad for him. The Core has been able to completely separate Marcy from any sensation, even after she realized what was happening and attempted to rebel. If Belos entered the Core's mind, they would simply lock him up. This is also something that holds in The Owl House's versions of mindscapes, where even though Luz and Amity were inside of Willow's mind, Amity was still able to project a memory of her own. And while Belos in his own mind could separate Luz and Hunter, Hunter was still able to return after a decent amount of time. Being killed within Darcy's mindscape would also lock him into their subconscious forever, which given the Core has absolute control within, would be the most likely thing to happen should Belos attempt that.

It should also be considered that even with Darcy's weakness of their wire acting as a weak spot, it really isn't as noticeable as it seems as a viewer from the outside. Sasha and Grime are trained warriors, who by that point were well aware of Darcy and had seen them in plain view. Even then, they weren't able to immediately notice and destroy Darcy's cable, with Darcy also being more than capable of defending it when they're focussed, especially with their illusory abilities. Even if Darcy should get their wire destroyed, The Core can survive as a helmet, and continue to live on within Andrias' crown.

Another way of looking at it is how much area they could each access outside of their respective worlds. Darcy has access to the Calamity Box, which can create portals to alternate worlds at will. Belos meanwhile has a couple reserves of Titan's Blood, which would also allow him access to a similar form of dimensional travel, though there is an emphasis on a few. Titan's Blood is far more restrictive than Calamity Energy, and Belos at most has been able to use it twice with absolutely zero Blood remaining. Technically, Darcy could just camp in an alternate reality and spam Frobots ad-infinitum at Belos until they get him, which Belos has zero counter play for.

So, with all that being said, despite Belos' own advantages and sheer might, Darcy is more likely to win the war of attrition!

Bonus Category: Titan Belos VS Final Gambit

Both of these forms were left out of the main verdict cause it would kinda be hard to apply. Belos doesn't know about the Titan's Heart normally, and the Boiling Isles is unlikely to have Amphibia's terraformed moon. I decided it would be best left to its own separate verdict to see how it would change anything.

First comparing the stat changes, in terms of speed, Belos mostly stays the same. The Core however now mostly hard caps at Mach 2782 in terms of travel speed. Yeah they technically have specific clips where they can be calculated to around 5000 Mach, but these are inconsistent with the timeframe it took The Core to reach Amphibia.

Now for power, things get much more interesting. Belos himself in this form can shake the Isles with a roar (68.27 Teratons), and move the arm of the Titan into space (24.7 Exatons, 9.07e+18 kg). He can also compare to feats from Luzan (who eradicated a large amount of Corruption with a Light Glyph worth 2.8 Zettatons), The Papa Titan (who can create stars in the sky worth 9 Yottatons - 208 FOE), and the Collector (who can move the moon worth 26 Ronnatons, and possibly create an entire galaxy worth 10.5 ZettaFOE). Comparatively, The Core just has their one feat of crashing into Amphibia and wiping out all life, which reaches 7.9 Yottatons of TNT.

So, that solves it, right? Titan Belos is just so much stronger and could just destroy the moon... right?

Well, it's not as simple as that. Should the Final Gambit hit the planet, it would create a shockwave so hot it would instantly melt the surface of the planet, evaporating all of its oceans instantly. This already sounds bad, but gets even worse considering how consistently Belos gets taken out by high temperatures, where even his Titan form got a large amount of it destroyed through a Light Glyph.

It's not like Belos can catch the moon or instantly destroy it either. The Titan's hand is far too small to actually hold onto the moon regardless of weight, and even then it does take a large amount of time for the Titan's hand to be lifted, to the point where the Final Gambit could just... move out the way, or send some of its defences to destroy or move the arm for it. And Titan Belos shows zero signs of great area of effect. He can spread Corruption which itself is super strong, but that Corruption takes a noticeable amount of time to both cover and destroy things, where it took a large amount of time to cover the Boiling Isles, which is smaller than the entire surface area of the moon.

Even without the Final Gambit, Darcy did have some answers to Titan Belos. They could send a ton of Drill Frobots to mine underground, still just spam hordes or Frobots on Titan Belos to tear him apart via laser cannons (which are still hot enough to instantly burn through metal), or just spamming nukes at him with the Castle Cannon. Belos meanwhile straight up has zero answers to stopping the moon. Sure the Day of Unity was able to stop the moon in orbit, but it wasn't able to prevent The Collector from just moving it out of the way, proving outside forces can easily still effect the moon's placement. Along with that, The Day of Unity would be extremely hard to set up in the first place, and likely inapplicable anyways as it requires the eclipse to even happen.

Now, to be fair to Belos, The Core did also have an equally inapplicable ability of its own as the Final Gambit, being the Shut-In. It goes without saying that temporarily turning everyone in the Boiling Isles into a beast really isn't doing anything when Biped Demons already exist. But that doesn't really change anything about how regardless of what Belos does, he simply just doesn't have an answer to literally crashing the moon into the planet (like, oh my god it's insane they can just do that).

With all that said, including iffy forms doesn't change the verdict, as The Final Gambit still pulls ahead VS Titan Belos!

Conclusion

Emperor Belos

"Finally! I can cleanse this perdition... MYSELF!"

Advantages:
  • Massively stronger no matter what
  • Much faster, even on the lowest speed gap
  • Has more options for restricting movement
  • Mind manipulation like from his staff or Body Swap would be massively disorienting for Darcy
  • Being able to survive as a single drop of goo makes him hard to kill
  • Raine's soundwaves, Eberwolf's beast keeping knowledge and Terra's mind control flowers all counter The Core's mind controlled beasts
  • Different forms of manipulating electricity counter Frobots massively
  • Titan form's corruption is a form of destruction that would negate Calamity Gem healing
  • Coven Scouts are much more versatile than Frobots...
  • Abomaton 2.0s are mostly just better than Frobots...
  • Clairvoyance could help him keep track of Darcy through illusions...
  • Better on-demand sustainability with Healing Magic and Light Glyphs...
  • Easily won the rap battle
Equal:
  • The Day of Unity and The Shut-In are useless
  • Healing options with the Healing Hat and Calamity Gems
  • Counters any curses/hexes that can be placed on each other
  • Telekinesis = Wires
  • Illusions =< Holograms
  • Anne would decimate him
Disadvantages:
  • Not as smart or strategic
  • Massively outnumbered
  • The Core's multitudes of heat based weaponry would allow them to damage him regardless of stats
  • Darcy could easily manipulate him using Marcy as leverage
  • Titan's Blood is worse at dimensional travel than the Calamity Gems
  • Attempting to possess Darcy or enter their mind would instantly make him lose
  • Petrification can easily be undone with magic
  • Overtime his own army could turn on him
  • Has much less control over the battlefield
  • The flying Newtopian Castle heavily limits his means of attack
  • ...However they're much less consistent overall
  • ...But lacking in numbers in comparison
  • ...Though he isn't immune to being snuck up on, and his influence is lesser over large distances
  • ...But it's much less potent than the Rejuvenation Tank

Darcy Wu

"FOOLS! You cannot stop... a GOD!"

Advantages:
  • MUCH older and more experienced
  • Way smarter as a collective of Amphibia's greatest minds
  • Heat based weaponry would be able to damage Belos regardless of strength
  • Illusions and fog would likely allow them to tag Belos regardless of speed
  • Their manipulation would likely cause Belos to hold back due to not wanting to accidentally kill Marcy
  • Them camping inside the flying Newtopian Castle inherently limits Belos' options of attack
  • Retrocognition is extremely useful for attack plans, manipulation, and turning Belos' own army against him
  • Counters Belos' mind manipulation
  • Cloak-Bots being able to track energy signatures means Belos attempting to possess any Frobots would be not very useful
  • Any form of possession is an instant win-condition
  • Larger area of effect lets them constantly place pressure on Belos' army from all angles
  • Counters sleep/poison manipulation via being partially mechanical, not needing to sleep and resisting poison
  • Essentially instantly wins if they use the Final Gambit
  • The Newtopian Castle Cannon is MUCH more powerful than anything in Belos' regular repertoire...
  • Cloak-Bot self destructions could likely oneshot Belos and his army...
  • Frobots are overall more consistent than Coven Scouts...
  • The Rejuvenation Tank is much better in terms of healing than Healing Magic or Light Glyphs...
  • Evanescence fan (based)
Equal:
  • The Shut-In and The Day of Unity are useless
  • Healing options with the Calamity Gems and Healing Hat
  • Counters any hexes/curses that can be placed on each other
  • Wires = Telekinesis
  • Holograms => Illusions
  • Luz would decimate them
Disadvantages:
  • Massively weaker on all ends, even with the Final Gambit
  • Way slower
  • Belos being able to survive as just a drop of goo makes him hard to kill
  • Most of their mind controlled wildlife is useless, and can be turned against them through multiple methods
  • Adrian Graye could likely see through the Cloak-Bot's cloaked modes
  • Mind manipulating spells would be super disorienting, even if Darcy can counter them
  • ...However it's unlikely to be fully relied on consistently
  • ...Though they're massively unlikely to be utilized in that way
  • ...But are much less versatile
  • ...But far less combat applicable

Final Vote

Emperor Belos: - [0] (At least this time, he didn't die getting stomped...)
Darcy Wu: - [1] (Helton)

Once everything had been analysed down to the core, the titan of an emperor couldn't help but croak.

The Winner is Darcy Wu!
